“My family had to drive up to Virginia for my cousins graduation from UVA. So this was a quick trip but seeing the views from the house were so beautiful, we wished we could have stayed longer! Make sure you have 4 wheel drive to get here, it is quite a steep ride up the mountain.”

“Quiet. Peaceful. Comfortable. A perfect weekend for two tired parents. We expected to do some local vineyard visits and hikes/trail walks, but we ended up resting and enjoying the comfort of the cabin. My only regret was that we were there during the fireplace off season. That’s the only thing that could have elevated our enjoyment of this space. Great weekend.”

“This Vrbo was a perfect stay for our family while visiting Virginia. The cabin is about 2 miles from ruckersville but is in a perfectly quiet area. Our only critic was in order to get to the second bedroom you have to walk through the bathroom with the shower. This was not a large hindrance for our family. Very pleasant owners. Thank you for your hospitality!”

“I've stayed at the Subshine House numerous times and it is as charming as ever with the new ownership. It's a serene oasis! The sunrises from the deck and expansive views from the house are amazing. The house is clean and well stocked and there is a TV in each room. My dog enjoyed playing in the big yard and water. Kiran was super nice, communitive and helpful. I will definitely come back again.”

“We had a very nice stay at this house during our spring break. I’m sure this is a great place to visit in the summer months! We were there very early spring so mostly rain, and a lot of things are not yet open this time of year yet. “We love this property, this is the second time we stayed here! Everything was great other then I think he last guests spilled something on the pool table and it was molding. I sent a message to the property manager when we discovered it. (but that is a minor issue that is easily resolved) One of the bathrooms was a little dirty upon arrival (hair int he drain etc.) Other than that this house was perfect for our get together with friends! We will be back again!”

“We had a nice time, the house was a great size for my family of four and our dogs. I wish there had been a king size bed though, all rooms just had queens (or bunks). We’d love to come back when it’s warm and not raining…end of March the water was about 64 degrees so too cold to get in (although my hubby and kids did a few cold plunges). The hot tub was great, and the dock and boat house were nice. We brought our own kayaks and were able to do that a bit. It’s super easy to walk down the yard……

“We had a few issues at the beginning of our stay but Vacasa did help to resolve them. The home is in a perfect location and the little beach outside was perfect for my young family. The house has a number of aspects great for a young family (tableware and basement playroom) however I was surprised there was no high chair and no pack and play (not advertised so I brought mine but easy additions to increase interest in this property?). Kitchen incredibly well stocked which made my evenings stress……
