Hannah, Freya, Jack, Calle and Ture made the stay very welcoming. While work was being done to the place during my stay I was never bothered by it. It felt very homely and comfortable and the team always checked in to make sure everything was going well. The room was clean and had everything I needed; even a nice toiletry kit as I had forgot some toothpaste. Powder Temple made it seem like you were staying in a cabin with friends. East access to the slopes as there is a station to take a bus straight to 47 and Goryu which is very convenient. The location being right next to the bus stop makes it one of the best locations in Hakuba. The accommodation is currently still in maintenance in some areas of the building but still a great place to stay to experience all the Hakuba has to offer. The beds were super comfy and had a bar that we could access whenever we wanted. The Valley snow buses stop right out the front so we didnt have to walk too far in our snowboarding gear. Jake, the owner, was super helpful and friendly. Avoid This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in in Japan and a very disappointing stay. First, it looks nothing like the photos. It is undergoing a renovation that is half done and seems abandoned. Hazardous chemicals are stored in the hallways. (I have photos where a large container clearly marked as hazardous and flammable is being stored in the hallway). The high staircase out front has no guard rail and is unsafe. Parts of the floors are stripped and not finished. The interior staircase is stripped and unfinished. On top of that the hotel was not very clean. The bathrooms were not up to Japan standards. The ski storage room has trash about the floor. There was no soap in the bathroom and we had to request it. The staff was the only bright spot as they were kind and helpful. Rude , eyeballing you the whole time, place is literally falling apart! Booked 2 ensuite rooms and had to use communal facilities 2fligjts down . 2showers and 3toilets for the whole lodge . I will make a formal complaint when l get back to Australia. Room was ready before check-in, quite the pleasant surprise. Staff went above and beyond with being available and setting up breakfast. Handy storage room for ski gear and hot wax available for snowboard/ skis at a reasonable price. My board looks great! It has a big common area great for meeting people, having a BEvERage, a good kitchen and the owners/ staff are very kind and accommodating. They are doing some renos with respect to the shower and toilet areas which is warranted. My room was clean, but could use a bit of a spruce up (i.e. only one receptacle plug worked, no towel rack in the bathroom), but that is minor. Although we were a little way from this, we were very happy with this location. The bus to the slopes in right outside, the stop is at this hotel, so fantastic, accommodation was good, we are a family of 4 and stayed in the apartment. Coming from Sydney we were slightly cold at first but the manager provided us with extra heating, so nil issues. Breakfast was basic, but enough and they made an effort most days with a little extra something ie pancake. There is dinner at the lodge for else there are places to eat that are close by. I would recommend this lodge to anyone and I would stay again.
