“Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. A real asset to the Old……

“I am going to celebrate my husband's wedding. The hotel is cosy and unique, it has a nice restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast during our stay, and a small library bar where you can chill with friends. The room is spacious and warm, we love this hotel.”

“We stayed in room 102 (cosy room) a lovely little room over looking the gardens. The room was clean and spacious with a walk in shower. We had breakfast which was delicious , served by Rachel the hotel manager, she was bubbly and very approachable giving plenty of suggestions for our trip. The hotel is normally busy but turned out we were the only guest for the evening which made for a peaceful stay (no complaints here) ”

“Pleasant stay. Clean room. A not too loud alarm did disturb our sleep a little but it must have been nothing untoward? - fire regulations said to wait in bedroom until otherwise advised... fortunately no such advice was forthcoming!”

Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. “Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast.”

The full English breakfast was good, my friend thought that his pancakes were under done, the scrambled eggs were out of a packet & watery. The bar was well stocked with a reasonable selection of beers. The only downside was that they don't serve food after 1600 on a Sunday. ”

Window latch broken, wobbly furniture, deadlock broken, no bedside table or shelf, no hooks or towel rails in bathroom, taps you cant operate with wet hands due to lack of……

“Nice and friendly staff, free car park. The mattress should have been replaced years ago and was very uncomfortable. No sound insulation between the rooms so you can hear everything going on in the rooms above and each side. The hotel bar was like walking into the bar in star wars, so we eat at a local restaurant nearby ”
