“Beautiful property on high rock Lake that was meticulously maintained and accommodating. Alfred made our stay over the top by his attentiveness and attention to our needs of any kind! The house was plenty ice and well equipped, and there was plenty of parking as well as additional parking offered. I would stay there again anytime and likely will book another weekend soon.”

“The house was not in a good neighborhood. Major issues: Chained dog barked all night, the washing machine didn’t work, had to call to find the linens which were stored in a file cabinet in a bedroom, showed up during check in time and cleaning staff was still there, hardly any dishes on site so forget about cooking a meal there. Place was a disappointment at best, especially for the overall cost.”

“Check in was easy and our contact person, Beth, was friendly and accommodating. The house was very clean, the kitchen well stocked, and the rooms were well furnished. The location of the house to the university and restaurants was perfect. Thank you to Beth, the cleaners, and the homeowners for a wonderful stay and for allowing us to have our other family member, our dog, with us. “The large, very well equipped kitchen, table big enough for 8-10 people, and comfortable great room with huge TV. Comfy bedrooms, ALL with great views of the lake. Great fishing, right from the dock! And very responsive owners. We really enjoyed our stay. Warning: the driveway down to the house is steep and there are 56 steps down to the water. But that adds to the fun!”

“Serenity without isolation”

“My family stayed at The Farmhouse Retreat for freshman orientation weekend at HPU. The house was perfectly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the decor was beautiful. The house is updated but the original charm is still intact. The location is very convenient especially if you are in town visiting HPU. We didn’t cook but the kitchen seemed to be well stocked. Check in was seamless and the host’s communication was excellent. We will definitely stay here again.”
