Located in Manassas Gap, gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley, directly across the valley from historic African Mountain and the Southern Appalachian range. Located in a biodiversity hotspot near many historic landmarks, parks, trails, rivers, farms, country kitchens, and festival locations. A wide range of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, eggs, and home cooked goods are available in several nearby locations, along with farm to table restaurants. Seasonal festivals in nearby towns are very active! Fully restored three-level working farm home with three porches, a full kitchen, and large living areas to accommodate eight people, with air conditioning for all three bedrooms and floor fans in all rooms. Our living and dining areas include baby high chair as well as books and toys for children and a wide range of books and games for adults. Bedding includes two Queen beds and one Full bed, as well as two extra large twin bed cots with metal bed frames and memory foam mattresses as well as additional deluxe inflatable twin beds if needed (all with pillows, blankets, and linens). A picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire box with Adirondack chairs is located by the creek. Enjoy breakfast or a drink on a wooden bridge over the stream at the opening of the woods. The back porch faces the woods and is open-air. The front porch on ground level overlooks a stream complete with chairs and side tables for dining. The glassed porch on the second level overlooks the mountain and has a table and chairs for a meal with a sitting area and coffee station. The kitchen has a full suite of appliances, including a crock pot and bread maker with cooking supplies (yeast, flower, etc.), and crock pot. Coffee bars on each floor of the house are stocked with coffee, tea, and creamers and supplies. Well water from the tap is purified though a dual water treatment and high density filtration system and tested. Located within 30 minutes of over 100 unique local attractions including rivers, parks, orchards, wineries, historic areas, local shops and boutiques, antique stores, restaurants, wildlife areas, national forests, farm produce, and farm-fresh markets including seasonal pick-your-own fruits, and festivals. A peaceful, quiet, serene, majestic, friendly, safe environment that is easy to reach but feels far away. A great place to get a good night's sleep and reconnect with family, nature, and friends. Great for relaxation with the family and friends. We experienced only a few mishaps while being there. 1) Google shows a wrong route leading to the house, so it would be nice if the correct address would be provided to the Google and bigger sign would be indicating the address. 2) the wasps and ticks were on the property promises. Understanding that the property is located in the forest we would suggest spraying the grass and house roof to prevent the infestation. 3) it would be nice to have detachable shower heads for families with kids. We absolutely loved our stay, the secluded historic property is so comfy and beautiful! Perfect for a relaxing weekend with friends or family. We even got to see snow before leaving and it was gorgeous! The beds are really comfortable, plenty of blankets, pillows, and seating as well as 3 coffee/tea makers (1 on each floor). The patios are also perfect for sitting and enjoying nature with breakfast. The host is so welcoming and kind and he made sure we had everything we may need. He even educated us on the history of the house and all of the wild animals you may see in the area which was so cool. We would definitely book here again, thank you for having us! ##### Abigail H. The owner has done a great job on giving it creature comforts. Property is very private with a cute stream and hiking trail on the property. We knew that the owner wanted to meet at us at check in, however we are very used to and love contactless check-ins, we did find that less than ideal to coordinate and meet a stranger after 10 hours of driving. Tom is such an attentive, responsive host and made sure we had everything we needed and more. Great deal too given the amount of space in the house and on the property. We had 8 people with our group and plenty of space for everyone. Hiking on the property was absolutely fantastic and the views are spectacular. The home is spacious, clean, and comfortable, making this the perfect place to spend time with loved ones. We had everything we could possibly need during our stay and even got to make homemade bread in the bread maker! The house has an interesting history in its transition from a working farm to a place that maintains its historical past. Newer additions provide the basic needs for all who stay here. The amenities listed in the description are indeed all there with additional extra touches that will make staying there more enjoyable,,,especially for children. The property is spacious...45 acres of forest land on a mountainside. We didn't have time to explore it all. Good place to get away from crowds and enjoy nature in its simplest beauty. ##### David R. Very private and a bit remote. Owner insists on in-person check in process which I have never experienced as a requirement when checking into a VRBO rental. This in turn requires a set time which was difficult for my group since we were horse showing at the Upperville show grounds. Comfortable amenities. 3rd floor shower extremely small. Hiking trails. 3 levels, therefore might not be suited for those who cannot use stairs. Otherwise, very nice. ##### Nicole O.
