“Good family room. Excellent shower as this room has been updated. Perhaps it is time to update decor in the hotel rooms as it felt like we were stepping back into the 1980s. However, for the price it was a good. The size room with everything you could need. Quiet room but could do with a fan or a/c”

“We had a great stay. Although our initial room was clean and well-maintained, it lacked WiFi access. However, the front desk staff was incredibly helpful and promptly moved us to a larger room with a fantastic internet connection. We were very pleased with the service. Additionally, there was sufficient parking available at the back of the property, and the complimentary breakfast offered a good selection of continental options along with made-to-order hot food. “The accommodation itself was lovely with a beautiful bathroom, the building itself needed a bit of care in places but because this is a community owned building the money is needed for other things like the rooms which have been done. I do not think this is a hotel but more a bed and breakfast as you have to pay for an evening meal in the bar/restaurant downstairs every night along with any drinks, you are unable to charge them to your room. “We checked ourselves in and left a couple of hours later (no staff seen). I hadn’t realised I’d booked a room with shared bathroom and the bathroom was on first floor and we were on the second - we only saw one shower and 2 toilets for all the shared rooms. There’s half carpet in the standalone toilet, which is gross. The rooms themselves are fine, a bit rough round the edges. I’m baffled at the positive reviews, it’s very basic and not good value - we chose to drive 2.5 hours home rather than……

“We did not stay in main hotel but in a flat across town up a rusty fire escape. The staff have had little or no training in service to clients. We cancelled our evening meal and breakfast. This hotel is a throwback to the 50’s even to the brown decor. Not to be recommended!”

“The view is absolutely beautiful. The overall hygiene was ok, with a small bit of stain on the sheet remaining. However, there was one used instant coffee packaging left, probably due to carelessness of cleaning staff. The worst issue was that the shower was completely not working but the hotel gave us this room knowing that there was a electrical failure for the shower. Although the staff was really polite when we raised this issue in the morning, it does not erase the disappointment at night.……
