“Had a wonderful long weekend with family at this wonderful mountain cottage. The house was incredibly clean, updated bathrooms, comfortable beds, and attention to small details like light fixtures and bedding. The location was pretty and within walking distance to the Saturday Farmers Market. The real star of this house is the large screened in porch with scenic views and a breeze. It was the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening happy hour. We did not even care when it rained a bit and……

“Overall we enjoyed our stay. A couple things of note: Bringing black out shades is super helpful! The closet in the bedroom is big enough for a portable crib. Be sure to bring toilet paper. We only had one full and one partial roll between the two bathrooms(and they were paper thin). Because there isn’t anywhere super close, it’s nice to know to pack some ahead of time :) The road is so peaceful and we went on the trail quite a few times. It was a bit wet, so we didn’t make it all the way……

“We arrived Thursday afternoon and stayed until Sunday morning. It was the most peaceful time away I have ever had. Everyone had a wonderful time and thought the house was amazing. Completely loved my time on Half Moon Lane!”

“The cabin is lovely. I was so happy with how well stocked the kitchen was with cooking supplies and nice dishes. The closed in patio was great and very relaxing, and we loved the hot tub. The only issue my husband and I came across was that the WiFi was very spotty/weak. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.”

“My husband and I stayed for the weekend. While the home is definitely out in the woods, it is not as secluded as we had hoped. There is a large occupied house that looks down on the rental house and hot tub. The ring doorbell can also see the hot tub, and we did not feel like it was private enough for us to use. The house is beautiful and there is plenty of space to wander in the woods.”

“The pictures and description are 100% accurate, but being there in person to take in the peaceful surroundings and views of nature with the family was a great experience. The hostess was responsive from the moment we booked and provided all the info we needed to make it to this mountain top cabin on the VA/WV border. We drove up on a Friday and after getting out of DC traffic we were on our way to Almost Heaven cabin. When we’re about a mile or so from the cabin we saw a black bear crossing……

It was going to be the first time we would all be in the same room in 8 years. We stumbled upon this beautiful house on VRBO and decided to go for it. Stacey responded promptly to our request to stay as well as to every question. The house was clean, comfortable and elegant. There was very little that we needed to leave the house……

“This cabin was a wonderful place to stay! It was quiet except for the sound of birds in the woods. The interior of the cabin was clean and well furnished; the bed was especially comfortable. While we didn't make use of the fire pit, the screened porch was our favorite place to sit day or night. Although it might have been too early for them, we felt relaxed on the porch knowing we wouldn't be attacked by mosquitoes or other bugs. It was easy to take our dog out for a walk on the back roads……

The bed and towels were clean and the kitchen was equipped well with a nice big fridge frezzer and working oven coffee machine water urn etc. The attention to detail of cleaning definitely could use improvement. The host was very good about communicating with us and the location is amazing.”
