It was clear that a lot of care and attention was put into making sure the cottage was an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The cottage was clean and check in/out was easy. My husband fished the entire time we were there and caught mangrove snapper, redfish, flounder, sheepshead’s and lady fish right off the property! We met the cleaning lady and the maintenance man while we were there and they both were a pleasure to speak with. Getting in and out of the driveway can be a little tricky at certain times but if you make friends with the neighbors they will stop traffic long enough for you to get out. Everyone we met in Matlacha was so friendly and with the cottage being walking distance to shops, food and parks was such a bonus! Had to contact the host upon arrival and waited over an hour to get the code. Property was stuffy and smelled of mold. A/C wasn't working and no thermostat could be found in the property. Contacted host but never heard back. Only one clean towel in the entire property, the rest were still in the laundry basket. Empty bottle of alcohol in bathroom drawer. Better bring your own cups if you want coffee as there were none. It's bare bones at best. We left and requested a refund which took about a week working through VRBO. ##### Craig A.
