“The property is 400 yrs old so expect things to be uneven. The current owners have only been there a few years so maybe they still have work to do. The bedrooms are described on the website as "stylish "....I would say plain. The bedding was clean, bathroom ok but it was difficult to get the shower to the right temperature...it was either boiling or cold. Room 5 had a frosted window but it was hot so we had it open. The room could do with a slight update....e.g. more plug sockets and a bigger……

“Parking can be a problem if arriving later in the evening. Follow instructions given by owners. Breakfast is great staff friendly and helpful. Keep entry instructions handy as had a little trouble finding codes. Rooms 7 and 8 are not where you'd think !”

“The George is opposite the Severn Valley Railway Station, perfectly situated for us, as we had steam train tickets. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, but the hotel is on a busy road which was noisy early in the morning. The breakfast was very good, and portions are generous. We dined in The Gurkha restaurant one evening. The food was excellent. Overall, a pleasant stay and very good value.”

“We received a very warm welcome from hosts Jackie and Rob and our stay was absolutely exceptional! Our room was clean, neat, well appointed, with a refreshments tray including lovely homemade cake and the folder containing menus and directions for the nearby pubs for meals was well thought out and presented. We slept well in a good firm bed and our room, with it's views over the garden, was very peaceful. The breakfast was excellent: perfectly cooked, nice quality ingredients and offered a……

“Very old decro room , was ok ,but not to my taste. Staff very friendly and overall good. It is a pub but it was not noisy in the night. Short drive to the town. I would prefer to walk to Ludlow but we could not find anything closer.”

“Great little find here! Lovely pub with great atmosphere, food fab with onsite restaurant. The room was really well presented and lovely decor. My room was facing south and west on the hottest day of the year, thankfully the staff provided a fan and there was a well stocked fridge in the room too. Breakfast was continental style in the room in a lovely hamper, plus yogurts, milk and orange juice in the fridge. Would go back again when in the area. Thanks team.”
