“The Royal Oak Inn is situated in a lovely area. It was easy for us to park. On arrival which was somewhat late, there was no one to look after us. I got the attention of someone in the kitchen who alerted the manager. We were given our room key and on arrival in the room I noticed that there was quite a bit of hair in the sink and some in the bathtub as well. I mentioned it to the manager and when we returned to our room after dinner, which was delicious, the hair in the sink was gone. The……
“We felt very welcome from arrival till departure. Good location, cheap parking nearby, decent breakfast to start your day. Keep in mind that the rooms are not air contained and not all windows can be opened. Ask for a fan of necessary.”

“Hotel was a nice over night stay. Bar was a chilled environment and food looked nice (didn’t eat but saw a few plates). Room was a little dated, but the bed was fairly comfy.
Sadly no air con so was a rather warm night but as on ground floor, didn’t fancy having the windows left open as no catch to prevent them being pushed open and entered”

“This is real gem, hidden away in the Devon countryside, at the end of long private driveway - with rather too many deep potholes, a danger to your car's tyres and suspension.
Once you're there you get get a warm welcome - all of the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are quite spacious. and the beds are very comfortable.
Dining is a speciality, and though the portions may seem small to some, they are beautifully prepared and presented, preceded by tempting amuse-bouches served……
