We loved our stay at Red Oak. My family was visiting from Ireland, and this was the perfect place for us to stay together where all the kids could enjoy ample pool time. The home was spotless and well-appointed, and much larger than it looks in photos. The neighborhood is peaceful and very conveniently located. I think a regular trip to Red Oak will become a family tradition for us!

Excellence!

This is our second time staying at the Red Oak. The house is very clean and well stocked throughout. The location is excellent and having the pool is such an added bonus. Mary is easy to communicate with and helps to make sure the stay is 10/10. I highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to New Buffalo. We will be back!

Annual multi-generation family vacation!What a gem! This home worked great for our family of 8 adults and 4 kids (age 2-5). We had plenty of room to spread out. The back pool area and deck were the highlight of our stay, but we also enjoyed the front porch & swing! We had everything we needed to go to the beach and to hang out at home. The location was nice, a bit away from town but not too far! We also rented the golf cart which worked great for quick trips to Oink’s for ice cream, grocery runs to Barney’s and trips to the beach to watch the beautiful sunsets! Would definitely come back to this home again if we were going to be in the area. Mary & Tom were great and quickly responded to any questions.

Family annual vacation

Everything was very nice, loved the pool. Wonderful access to things in area. We’ve been doing a Michigan family vacation for approximately 14 years and this was the best place we have stayed in!!!

Our stay at Red Oak was wonderful. There was space for everyone. We loved the pouch on sunny mornings/afternoons, loved the proximity to town and all the ways the house was comfortable. It fit our needs for a weekend trip perfectly.

Friends weekend

Our second time at Red Oak!

This house/property is just perfect. Great location, awesome pool, it’s stocked with essentials plus all the things that make it easier to travel (lots of towels, good quality shampoo/soaps, coffee, knives, cookware, pack n play, pool toys, to name a few), the beds are comfortable, laundry (so great with young kids!), good beds/bedroom ratio, and Mary and Tom are so responsive and such great hosts. What more could you ask for?

Amazing - Highly Recommended!

I booked this for a surprise birthday party for my Wife and her Family and couldn't be happier with the result. This house is bigger than it appears in the pictures. There is plenty of space for 10+ people to sleep. High-end finishes, VERY clean, and outstanding location. That being said, the true star is the back patio, pool, and proximity to the beach. We would return to this house in a heartbeat! Thank you for such a great stay!

Pottery Barn Retreat

Never have we had a VRBO property as tastefully decorated or as clean as Red Oak. The owner left no stone unturned when it came to guest comfort. Tasteful and comfortable, with every need anticipated. Thank you so much for a memorable weekend. As we age these short friend retreats become more important each time. Hopefully we will be able to return to this New Buffalo gem this spring.

Fall Pool Party

This beautiful house was the perfect escape for our family and pod friends. A nice change of pace from routine. The highlight was swimming in 85 degree pool followed by relaxation around a campfire. The home is well cared for and has all is the amenities you need not to mention plenty of space. We will remember this place for family and friends in the future and look forward to coming back for a longer stay ourselves.

Exceptional!

Our group of 7 girlfriends have been renting properties for our annual retreats for a decade, and we all agreed this was the nicest house we've stayed in. It was so spacious, beautiful, well appointed, and well stocked. There was so much attention to detail. It's especially great for larger groups who want ample, comfortable seating. We also really appreciated all the large, comfy beds; we're past the age of wanting to rent a house with rooms full of bunk beds. The only negative was some repetitive noise from (I assume) the sump pump was disruptive for those sleeping in the basement. We would absolutely stay here again.

Plenty of space and little extras!

This house was perfect for our group! It has a big open floor plan, which is great for socializing. The pool was amazing, and the cover was very easy to use. Each towels, sunscreen, and bug spray were provided. The basement space is huge! We had two small children under 3 years old, and it was great to put them to bed downstairs and still hang out upstairs without them waking up. All bedrooms have plenty of space and the house is well equipped with towels, shampoo and soap, and plenty of little extras. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Getaway Spot!

We stayed at Red Oak as a meet-up spot for three couples. The location was perfect for us to enjoy New Buffalo and visit Journeyman Distillery for an afternoon. Best of all, the house was perfection! We loved the ranch layout and everyone was so impressed with the cleanliness, furnishings and decor. We appreciated the check-in guidance, informative guest binder and the fully-stocked kitchen. Often times, it's difficult to prepare food, make a pot of coffee or find enough wine glasses to go around. That was certainly not the case here. The host, Mary was incredibly responsive and very kind. Beautiful place. Best host. Would love to visit again. Highly recommend!

Another Incredible Stay at Red Oak!

This was our second visit to the Red Oak, and we were not disappointed! We loved the property last year, but the weather did not cooperate. This year Mother Nature made up for it by giving us a full week of sun! We enjoyed lazy days around the pool and nighttimes by the fire pit. We cooked in (the kitchen is extremely well appointed!), ate out (go to Jackie's for breakfast!), played games (the basement is excellent for Game Night!) and just overall RELAXED. There is something about this place that brings our blood pressure down the minute we arrive. Tom and Mary are fabulous hosts -- very responsive, and you will want for nothing! We will absolutely be back again next year!

So Nice We Had to Visit Twice!

The Red Oak served as our end of summer family getaway for the second year in a row. We had three families with children ranging from 8 months old to 8 years old -- between adults and kids we all had what we needed for a relaxing and comfortable weekend. The house is beautifully appointed, spacious, and well maintained. Mary has thought of and anticipated every need that you may have from quality toiletries, beach/pool toys, pack-in-play, kitchen/serving ware, down to a power outage emergency pack. One of the best features of the house is the saltwater-heated pool and patio area. Two of the families are pool owners and instantly fell in love with this pool. Much like the house, the pool is high quality and functional (auto pool cover, smooth springy pool liner, varied depth to at least 6 ft). All of the kids were able to show off their swimming skills and confidence in the pool safely, easily making it their favorite part of the house. New Buffalo is a beautiful beach town, perfect for relaxing on the beach, exploring the sand dunes, or winding down at a local restaurant/winery. My husband and I enjoyed morning walks to the beach to watch the sunrise and watch the town start to wakeup. We highly recommend this house and we are grateful for the care and hospitality that we receive every time from Mary & Tom.

A perfect getaway

This was a beautiful property in a lovely residential area close enough to downtown for a nice walk. My grandchildren were delighted with the pool (as were the adults who were happy that it was heated). The home is beautifully decorated and so comfortable and outfitted with top of the line appliances. The hosts are also very friendly and generous and seek to make your stay a real pleasure. Would absolutely stay again when we would want more than 2 bedrooms (the house has 5 spacious ones).

Amazing Experience

Charming home in a great location! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The home was so welcoming and well appointed. It was beautiful, clean and had everything we could want. We travelled with 3 small children. It was very child friendly. the pool was definitely a highlight. The location made it easy to walk to town and get anything we wanted. We're hoping to make our visit a new annual tradition.

Fantastic House

This is the second house of Mary's that we've stayed at, and they were both great. We had a wonderful time playing ping pong and just watching tv downstairs on the nice big couch. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us and the beds were so comfortable. Mary is also very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. We can't wait to come back in the summer!
