"We had a very disappointing experience with this property and feel obligated to warn future guests.When we arrived, it was immediately clear the unit had not been cleaned from the previous guests. When we pulled back the sheets on the main bed, we found multiple types of hair under the sheets along with visible stains. Hoping it was just that bed, we checked the spare bedding, but all of it was also dirty, stained, and covered in hair.We pulled out the futon hoping it might be usable, but it was covered in dog hair and sand from previous guests. At that point it was obvious the unit had not been properly cleaned between stays. We also found both live and dead bugs in the unit.We attempted to contact the host and reached out to VRBO through their platform while we were there. After getting nowhere and realizing the property was not in a condition to stay in, we left after about an hour and booked a hotel instead.The next morning the hosts messaged us through VRBO agreeing to a 100% refund, but when we attempted to get the refund they denied it. Despite the written agreement, VRBO was zero help resolving the situation.The listing’s claims about cleanliness were misleading, the unit was clearly not cleaned between guests, and the hosts went back on their promise to refund us. I would strongly recommend avoiding this property."

"Everything was very nice. I did not take advantage of any of the amenities outside of our room. I was disappointed that I was charged a nightly resort fee of $21 for each day that I stayed. We did not take advantage of any of the other amenities such as the pool tennis courts or exercise room. I would’ve considered an alternate place to stay if I knew my total nightly charge was going to be increased for amenities that I was not using. "

"The rooms are exceptional! Newly remodeled, beautifully decorated and very clean! Large TV, nice glass door fridge, and very comfy beds. Staff was amazing. The shuttle drivers truly awesome and I hope our tipping reflected our appreciation. Can't wait to stay there again. "

"With respect to feeling welcomed, the Lodge is Best In Class. We had never been there, but the communication prior to our visit was top notch. When we checked in, Colleen (sp) took the time to "show us around", and the printouts we received covered every single question we might have asked. Finally, we might have to go back simply to get anothernbag of amazing Chocolate Chip cookies."

"My Husband is Up North every other weekend to attend massage school in Traverse City. This lovely Inn has become a second home and deep respite. I think we will come here for the rest of our lives. Thank you for such a beautiful and sacred place for our family. "

"The lodge was very nice, very clean and a great location. Check in was super easy and we had no issues with that piece. Our only negatives are I had a difficult time sleeping because the mattress was extremely firm. My wife thought there could be a couple wall hangings to make the room have a warmer feel. Overall an outstanding stay."

"House had everything we needed for our winter stay of 3 nights. Dog friendly was perfect. We snowshoed on the lake and did day trips to Traverse and Boyne."
