“The only issue we had was there was no one to check us in, The contact numbers we had no one answered. We actually felt like we were trespassing. After driving around for an hour someone finally returned our call & messages and arranged to meet us. We had almost given up & were going to go home. Having said that we ended up having a really enjoyable stay :)”

“We were very well looked after by Shaan & Sef who must be the one prepared our breakfast which was freshly made and ample every morning . The room was clean and spacious enough for us & our dog Rocky. Tumbleweed is a good place to stay for a few days to visit the local attractions, such as Sherwood Forest, nearby. It is a heaven for dog owners and joggers. I jogged with my dog along the Well Lane & The Avenue every morning and walked my dog on the couple of bridal ways nearby in the evening....

“Having stayed a few times over the years we knew what to expect . As usual all the staff were helpful and cheerful. However we stayed in room 6 overnight on a very hot day and night so the room was very uncomfortably hot and made sleeping a problem. We did notice there was an air conditioning unit in the ceiling which was not operating and there was no way to control it. Very disappointing, it would have made a big difference on such a hot night. Nevertheless we look forward to our next stay,...

“On arrival, I was given a sheet of paper to fill in, but it was so badly printed that I could not read it! The room was spacious, with a walk in shower, kettle and tea and coffee. However, the wifi did not work for me, and the TV kept cutting out, but the bed was comfortable. In the morning, there was no water from the taps, so I could not use the lovely looking shower; I had to wash with water from the kettle, from the previous evening. I feel that the staff should have been warning guests...

“Basic accommodation. Old fashioned but clean . In need of a refurbishment. Plenty of free parking and the location is OK . Cheaper than big hotel chains but the rooms reflect this . Beds are sponges and need replacing . ”

“The hotel is in a transition phase - they're in the midst of a reboot/refurb so things are still a bit up and down, though they did seem to be trying their best. I stayed in one of the finished rooms and everything was just as you would expect. Unfortunately the hotel was overbooked so my colleague had to stay in one of the incomplete rooms. We finally found a few customers who told us that only member of staff doing front of house was getting ice cream for their daughter. When she appeared we asked about food but was told that the kitchen closed at 2 and that we would need to go out if we were hungry.
