Ringmer was not originally the principal village of the area but a common for the farmers of Rushy Green, Ashton Green, Norlington and Wellingham to graze their livestock on. However, Ringmer soon became the parochial centre, and from the enclosures onwards the village grew, particularly after two turnpikes (nowadays the B2192 and B2124) were driven through the common in the 1740s. “The hotel looks very new. Not sure if it’s a new built/ newly refurbished. It’s very modern and the staff there (Brighton) was wonderful and very welcoming during check in & out, luggage storage etc. Such a convenient location as it’s more or less 5 mins walk from the train station. About 15mins walk down to the seaside which is close enough. The room is clean and all essentials kitchenware included if you want to cook during your stay. We didn’t cook as there’s too much great food temptation……
