“We, my wife and I, staid 3 nights mid August . We were surprised that nobody came during our stay to clean our room and/or make the bed. But 2 more things were more shocking to us. 1- There was indeed a kettle in our kitchen, however nowhere to plug it. There was no wall socket to plug the the 3-pin plug. Also, no cups to be found in our kitchen. I had to go to the restaurant to ask for cups ! 2- The breakfast costs 18 euros. This price would be acceptable with more choice of food and free……

“The staff were excellent and the hotel itself was fine. The issue was one of isolation. If you aren’t travelling by car then options are significantly limited. Taxis are almost impossible to get (they have to travel from Pisa), the buses were intermittent and weren’t running at the weekend. It also isn’t safe to walk along the main road to access other amenities. On our first night both restaurants were closed (something that we weren’t told when we checked in) and the nearest supermarket……

“This was the most beautiful, peaceful place. Such a dream to stay here. The staff were all lovely and the breakfast was perfect. Lots of options from fresh fruit to yogurt to croissants to eggs and delicious cheese and meats. View was gorgeous. The owners referred to us by name which made it feel very personal and intimate. The decor in the rooms is artistic.
