We spent New Year's week in Puerto Rico, with this being our second stop. We rented the bottom unit (the top unit was rented by a pleasant Canadian family). My kids keep raving that this was their favorite home of our trip. After booking, I was a little nervous, given the newest vbro reviews were from 2017. However, I learned that the home was closed due to renovations after the hurricane and back available late 2019. We ended up flying to Vieques via VAL from San Juan; that flight was much easier than the Ferry. We rented a Jeep, which is truly needed on the island and Jeeps are no longer available for rent through Cookie/Jose. The property manager, Aurelio, was super helpful and responsive to all my questions. He met us at the car rental location and lead us to the house, which was less than 5 minutes from Isabel II. The roads to the house are a bit crazy, but so is driving on Vieques in general. My US Verizon cell service was worthless for GPS navigation, but my husband's AT&T service worked well. The home had air conditioners in each room, a good washer/dryer set, an ample kitchen/fridge, and the kids liked the pool and tv. The back deck had a fantastic view where you could see the ocean, watch iguanas bask in the treetops, and listen to the sounds of Vieques (music, roosters, and dogs). I'd fully recommend a stay at Cookie's Paradise. Enjoy!
