The staff really lovely and helpful arrived early but they allowed us to use the pool. On evening returned after meals finished but they did food for us which was delicious. When leaving checked out and use pool again which was good. Breakfast both morning great only problem no Haggis just vegetarian Staff polite and friendly would stay again

We had a lovely stay at the Castle - the room was beautiful as was the food. The staff in the restaurant and those who welcomed us were amazing. Only disappointment was on check out we asked the history of the castle and were told by a very disinterested staff member to "look it up online"! We thought they would have been very proud to talk about the history and when it was built etc. Other than that we loved it!

This could be an amazing place to stay. The grounds are impeccably maintained and beautiful. Unfortunately, our room smelled musty and of tobacco smoke. We couldn't believe what we were walking into! We arrived late, otherwise we would have left immediately. My wife awoke in the middle of the night nauseated from the smell. The deck restaurant was understaffed and the food unimpressive. Deferred maintenance issues were apparent with the buildings.

We were upgraded to a fancy room apparently which was on the 6th floor. We expected a great view of the city however we were disappointed to find no windows in the room. Very claustrophobic. Nice comfy bed and a decent breakfast. Grossly overpriced at £210 for the night for 2 of us. Far superior hotels in the city centre area at significantly lower prices are available. Won’t visit again. That about covers it.
