Staff was polite but seemed helpless. However.... Breakfast was poor, not even up to what you'd find as a mid-range regular corporate hotel. AND...Booked through Expedia and thought I was paying in full. BUT At checkout, I was surprised to be charged over $100 extra by the hotel, well, just because. Apparently they charge extra for having a hotel there. Does this make sense? No. Was I informed before checkout? No. This "boutique hotel" was not able to provide any more complementary bottled water than the bottle at check-in ("we don't do that"), did not replace hand towels, makeup wipes, etc. when asked, and the front desk/little amenities store was not able to change a $20 (so I could leave tips for the cleaners) because, well, "it is a holiday week." There was no cold water for my entire stay, even after it was brought to the attention of the front desk. They said they were having maintenance work on it as it was throughout the entire building but after a week we still didn’t have cold water. The tv remotes didn’t work very well. The housekeeping was very loud outside the door, often slamming doors to their utility rooms up until 8pm some nights. The morning of our check out there was someone drilling into the ceiling right outside our door at 8am with no warning or apologies for the inconvenience. The room was spacious but the couch, bed and pillows were not very comfortable. Water pressure in shower was great though. Parking was easy and was often empty. The bar area was nice, quiet and staff were attentive there.
