Vista Views is the perfect getaway for a peaceful family vacation. The warm, modern, and newly updated home has plenty of space for both family activities and privacy. It is conveniently located only 15 minutes north of historic downtown Durango and 20 minutes south of Purgatory Ski Resort. Located on a private street, the home is nestled among tall pine trees with amazing views of the red cliffs, and bordering National Forest almost guarantees you the chance of seeing the abundant wildlife in the area. The Spring months bring the relaxing sounds of the creek running on the property. Once inside, you'll be welcomed by the open, single level floor plan. The kitchen is a cooks delight with plenty of counter space, pantry, and all new appliances! The adjacent dining room has a large dining table with enough seating for eight and the sliding glass door allows easy access to the deck and convenient location of the BBQ grill. The living room has a comfy, oversized couch and a 2-sided wood burning fireplace. Down the hallway you will find all three bedrooms. The kids' room has 3 twin beds (one is a bunkbed) and TV. The second bedroom has a queen bed and wall mounted TV. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, TV, and en-suite bathroom. For your convenience, there is a laundry room complete with washer/dryer located inside just off the oversized 2 car garage. Bed Configuration: Master Bedroom - King bed (Main Level) 2nd Bedroom - Queen bed (Main Level) 3rd Bedroom - Twin Over Twin + Single Twin (Main Level) Game Room - Sleeper Sofa Admit it, wouldn't you rather be here? There is an additional pet fee of $100 per dog per reservation. Maximum 2 dogs. Renters are responsible for their pet(s) at all times and must ensure all solid wastes have been picked up and disposed of before departure. There will be a $500 fine if there is an unauthorized pet on the property. NO Smoking anywhere on the premises. Guests will be sent a vacation rental agreement by Durango Colorado Vacations (the property manager) to e-sign at the time of booking. Note: This home does not have Air Conditioning. Most homes do come equipped with box and ceiling fans. A friendly reminder before you book your stay, is to remember we are trusted to manage independent and family-owned homes. We simply ask that you treat these homes and properties with the same respect that you would expect one to treat yours. Due to a recent uptick in unauthorized guest, pets and gatherings. We are implementing a strict "one strike" policy for any guest that are found having any unauthorized gatherings, pets or guest with them in the home. Failure to disclose any of the stated above will result in immediate termination of stay with no refund being issued for unused nights. Please note that most properties are outfitted with outdoor security cameras. Cancellation Policy: If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that are made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival will receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee. Between (29) days and fifteen (15) days before arrival, guest will be refunded 50% of the reservation amount. (14) days or less to arrival, no refunds given. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date to receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee Cancellations made between thirty one (31) days in advance of your arrival and (59) days will receive a 50% refund. Private setting. House and property layout was very convenient and comfortable. We really enjoyed all the wildlife. Our first few evenings we were blessed to see a Fox, wild turkeys, and a bear. Would have given 5 stars in all categories but only gave 4 in a few because of no shades/curtains on front and deck doors for privacy at night, the smell of dirty hair odor on a lot of the bedding and the back of the house itself, and it was an annoyance to constantly have to take our shoes off to walk on the already stained carpet. Especially after two of us stepped on nails that had come through the carpet. Taking off shoes was not noted in the property description. The host was great to work with. The house had everything we needed. The back deck had wonderful views and the wildlife we saw (Deer and Turkeys) was so awesome. We thought the location was perfect as we were just a bit outside of downtown Durango but it was so easy to get to the town. I totally want to come back!! I woke up each morning and caught the sunrise on the back deck— breathtaking. The kids loved exploring the property daily— we saw so much wildlife, climbed some rock walls, walked along the creek bed, hiked, and took in the views. The house itself is so homey, and was equipped with everything we needed to cook and stay comfortable. The property is the perfect distance to downtown Durango, where we ate, white water rafted, went horseback riding, shopped, and caught the steam engine to cascade canyon. EPIC! We also took a day trip (30 minute ride!!) to Purgatory Resort for a fun filled day. This place was great because there was plenty of room for sleeping and dinners but having access to the garage to store the bikes at night was awesome. Everything worked at the house and it had all the necessary equipment to make breakfast for 5 guys before we headed ride. We would stay there again. My family and I loved the home and everything about it. Very nice place with a secluded feel and the location was great. Our favorite thing about the place (since we had our toddler with us) was the single floor layout and the easy access (no steps to enter or steep drop offs around the property). We looked for a property convenient to Durango and to the spectacularly scenic San Juan Mountains for day excursions, while also offering a peaceful and comfortable setting at days end. All reviews for this property stressed the beautiful views from the back deck and I can only add how much we enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck watching the sun rise over the Animas River Valley and disappear over the western mountains at night. The small gated community ensures privacy and peaceful quiet. The house was beautifully appointed with all possible conveniences. The very comfortable beds and cool quiet mountain air made for very restful nights. We took full advantage of all the outdoor adventures offered in this unforgettable region of Colorado: hiking, biking, high mountain basin jeep tour, driving the scenic Million Dollar Highway to Silverton and Ouray (or save the driving and take the Durango-Silverton Train). The aspen leaves were just starting their annual turn to brilliant yellow, a sight you can't soon forget. This house is your perfect base camp for an amazing trip to this region. For skiers, it's less than 30 minutes to the Purgatory Ski area. For spa enthusiasts, the Durango Hot Springs spa less than a mile down the road is not to be missed. The guest book in the house will lead you to other special treats in the area. We loved this property. The setting is beautiful and it’s in a great location. The house was clean and we really liked the layout. The property was the perfect mix of seclusion and yet close to both Durango and Purgatory. It was plenty roomy for 6 Adults and a child. Extremely well-stocked! We went to celebrate my daughters birthday. We also brought along our 2 dogs and they seemed to adjust very well after the first night. The home is very comfortable and inviting. We got to see tons of Turkeys, and a few squirrels. Durango downtown is about a 10-15 minute drive. The property management company was easy to work with and responsive to our needs. My only issues were: toilets (especially master bath) did not work well and hot water ran out very quickly. We had to have a plumber come in and look at it. But, it is a nice property and well priced. I would not stay there again unless the toilet and hot water issues were taken care of though.
