I would have given 5 stars — the hotel itself was great and in a perfect location.
We arrived around 2:30 PM, thinking we might be a bit early. The staff informed us that our room wasn’t ready and that it could take a couple of hours. When I asked why that was the case, given that I had booked well in advance, the front desk agent got a bit snappy. Only after I asked if there were any other available rooms did she even check, and then said I’d have to pay extra.
When I asked her to make a note that I wasn’t able to check in to my room on time (for Expedia), the manager overheard and immediately stepped in. He confirmed there would be no extra charge and personally got us a room but took around 20 mins of what ever the system issue they were having
I also noticed other receptionists helping guests with similar issues, offering them different rooms and even $10 gift cards, without the guests having to ask — and I’m supposed to have VIP status through Expedia. Didnt question it since i don't like confrontation and i am with a pregnant wife a 4 year old.
That said, I’m thankful the manager resolved everything quickly. The room was great, and we even got a king bed, which wasn’t available during booking which is what i wanted it. The location is fantastic — right by Main Street shopping and very walkable.
