Like a good dessert, tastes like more.
Yes, as others have said, "There are trains." It's the price you pay to be on the river. Wake early to see God hand-paint the sky and magnify His work with reflection on the water, or sleep in and let eagles on the island across be your alarm clock. Then watch them grab breakfast from the river. Maybe the formation of geese flying low on the river will be your morning smile or possibly swallows swooping and darting will make your heart race. Then later, you may see six vultures... wait... white heads, make that six bald eagles circling overhead. Perhaps, the quiet strength of the mighty Mississippi will bring you peace. Did you know 1.6 million gallons flows through the Mississippi every second? So why were we talking about trains? Perhaps we like to brag about the great deal we got on front-row seats to the show.

Vacation
Hubby & I came for a mini vacation. Nice property. Great neighbors. Yes, a train went by during the night. We fished during the day & spent evenings at the property. This place has everything you may need! Enjoyed our stay. Will definitely come back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was VERY clean and had everything you’d need and more! Who doesn’t leave for a getaway and forget something small and this place had all the little things. It was peaceful and while there are train tracks they didn’t bother us. The screened porch was so wonderful and our favorite feature!

It was a lovely stay overall. The house is comfortable and well stocked. Lovely view of the moon and the sunrise over the river. I was a little unprepared for the number of trains coming through, but they were interesting to watch.

Our second time staying at this property. Enjoyed our stay. Good way the enjoy the Mississippi River. The kids love fishing off the dock! For a small cabin, the space is very well utilized. We especially like the screened-in porch.

Great location for hopping wineries and breweries. Relaxing and out of the busy city life.
We had everything needed. The grocery store was not far. Our family enjoyed our time here and relax , unwind from the daily grind. The river held its own relaxing therapy with the activities and wildlife.

Amazing
I could not have asked for a better experience!! We are already planning the next time to stay there! I'll admit I'm a planner n brought things I thought they might not have...I didn't need any of it... they had everything! It was a perfect spot with great neighbors. The kids had a blast jumping off the dock. The house was clean n smelled great. Beds were SOOO comfortable. So happy. Can't wait for the next trip! Thanks!

Nice cabin right on the river
This cozy cabin was perfect for our short stay as it had everything we needed. Caught catfish and bluegill’s right off the dock. The screened in deck came in handy as the fish flies were out for a couple days.

Nice Memorial Day trip
I and six of my friends stayed here over memorial day. Brandon was a very insightful host and he made things super easy and smooth to check in and out. The house was exactly as described and though the trains were active, usually 1 or 2 would pass by at night and a few in the day, they really didn’t bother us much. The beds were all comfy, the kitchen was well stocked (although we could’ve used some tongs and some steak knives since we ended up cooking steaks one night), and there were plenty of clean towels at our disposal. I loved being able to go out on the deck and the screened in side of the porch at night when the bugs were prevalent. This house is conveniently located really close to a lot of hiking/ recreational activities which I thoroughly enjoy. The Effigy Mounds, yellow river state forest, Marquette, IA, and Prairie Du Chien, WI are about 10-15 minutes away and about 45-60 minutes away is Decorah where we rented kayaks. The house was a little small for seven adults but that’s just an oversight on my part and nothing against the house. I would totally stay here again!

Great Location
Friends got together for a fishing trip on the Mississippi river. It was a very relaxing stay with a big deck overlooking the river and a nice screened in portion for kicking back at night. Very clean and plenty of beds for sleeping. It also has a big dock to tie your boats off for a quick lunch stop while on the river or to keep the boats in for the night. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect weekend away
My mom and I with my best friend and her mom came for a mother/daughter weekend. We loved the house! It was a perfect place to come back and relax at. It was convenient getting to, we loved the view, it was very clean, we had plenty of room to sit and visit inside and out, and the beds were super comfy! We had a great weekend! We would definitely stay here again!
