"I will start by saying I normally find premium brands of hotel chains not great value for price. But not the JW Marriott Nara! From the minute we checked in the service and hospitality was tremendous. Even the smell of the hotel was unique and comforting. One of my travel partners bought some of their air “therapy” to take home. Our room was luxurious without being over the top. Amenities like sauna, jacuzzi and pool felt like we were in a high end resort somewhere. The breakfast was fresh with a lot of variety. And lets say the foam “baby deer” on our coffee had my wife wanting to take the barista home. The bar was well stocked and wine choice excellent. A little pricey, but expected. I would highly recommend you stay here when in Nara. We will certainly return! "
"There was no spa. The room was clean on the surface, but a lot of dirt and cigarette ashes in the books and cranies. The AC unit made a high pitched noise at any speed or temperature, so we had it off most of the night, had to sleep with the windows open. There's not a lot to do nearby and the closest station is 20-30 minutes on foot or 10 mins on cab. "
