“This place is a perfect location. The hosts are outstanding! The place is very cute but I didn’t read the description careful & i felt the low ceilings were too much for me. I also thought there was a balcony but it’s just very creatively done to look like outside. So all these things were because I wasn’t reading carefully. “The house was great and exactly what we were looking for. The location was perfect- a short walk to the numerous downtown shops, to family for us, and right next to a great new boardwalk/trail- perfect for daily walks and even long runs. The city was nearby and we were able to find a great weight lifting gym within a short drive (many others even closer though if looking for a basic gym). House was very clean and updated. "I have previously enjoyed exceptional stays at InterContinental properties, notably in San Diego and Sanya. During a recent business trip, due to the absence of a nearby InterContinental hotel, I chose the Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville South Bartram Park (13934 Village Lake Circle, Jacksonville, FL 32258) for a two-night stay from March 20 to March 22, 2025, trusting the IHG brand. After my first night, I requested a late check-out, which Mr. Rojo, a courteous long-haired male staff member, promptly approved. However, merely an hour later, Ms. Chris, a female staff member who was overweight, wearing glasses, with a slight bald spot, and dressed in a red and white floral shirt, rudely rescinded this agreement without providing any valid reason. Her demeanor was unprofessional and hostile, raising serious concerns about racial discrimination, especially as her colleague appeared embarrassed by her conduct and even questioned her decision by asking, “Are you serious?” In all my years of traveling and staying at various hotels, I have never encountered such blatant discrimination. This incident is completely unacceptable and has severely tarnished my perception of the IHG brand. I strongly advise fellow travelers to reconsider staying at this property to avoid potential discriminatory treatment."
