Great room with a lovely sea view

Staff were not friendly.

We stayed for 9 night so it was important that we had all the comforts of home. Coastlands provides that and even more. The bed was comfortable. Staff was always pleasant. The breakfast range varied every day which made it enjoyable. The hotel is only a short walk to Gateway shopping mall and is located in a very safe area.

Very good location but it’s an older property, ceiling leak in the hallway outside our room for a couple days.

Booked online through Expedia and process was seamless. Enjoyed an excellent 8 day stay here over the Comrades marathon week. Hotel staff could not have done more to help. Secure parking is on site undercover for a couple of US$ a day. It is about 20 minute drive from the airport and about another 20 minutes to downtown Durban. We were allowed to check in early after travelling for 24 hours and were given a lovely sea facing room. The breakfast was amazing and in dining options are great. Special kudos to Vanessa who really has the dining area working well. Super friendly and customer focused! The security at the front door is one of the friendliest guys you can meet. The area is walkable to Gateway shopping mall and the beach (both of which we did numerous times in our stay without any safety issues - obviously be careful not to walk at night and don’t flash cash or jewellery. There is a lovely Baron pub 100 meters out the front door (think a sports bar with amazing food and incredible service) and a Butcher Block steak house over the road. Great heated pool and gym on site. 10 out of 10 - definitely stay there again.
