![Outside of Charleston is the Caw Caw Nature Preserve. It was a rice plantation that is now open to the public with walking trails, benches, and an information center. There is an abundance of wildlife including alligators, snakes, and birds. We did not see any gators when we were there but we did see a few snakes and a ton of birds! Entrance to the park is either free or a dollar USD. “Location was fantastic. Communication was great. Only negatives were both beds were soft and older. There were no box springs and the slightest movement was loud and shifted the entire mattress. They do warn you that the A/C units turn on sporadically to regulate the humidity. Be warned that they are not quiet when they turn on and they will come on multiple times in the middle of the night. We never woke up to the sounds from King street, but we did wake up suddenly to the loud sounds coming……
