(863 reviews) This hotel near a horse ranch and backdropped by mountains was a pleasant and affordable setting for our week at Yellowstone. The drive to Yellowstone's west gate was about 10 minutes away and went through a small resort town that offered all the necessary amenities and good dining and shopping. A leather chair in the hotel's beautifully decorated lobby was where I snuggled in each evening to process photos from the day's adventures. The staff members were a delight to talk to and had intimate knowledge of the area. I loved the cinnamon rolls and my husband enjoyed the waffle maker at breakfast. (737 reviews) Cabins were over 20 miles from West Yellowstone. When I booked, I searched for places to stay in West Yellowstone, not someplace so far away. Also, road into cabins was poorly plowed and as it got warmer and snow became slush it was an adventure getting to and from our cabin. (834 reviews) Staff was great, location is great. This is a motel calling itself a hotel. Sure it has a nice lobby and it’s been aesthetically updated, but it’s a motel. 24 hour coffee is nice except that you have to bundle up and walk outside to get. If you are spending very little time in your actual room, then it’s a decent home base in Jackson Hole.
