“Sonja and I very much enjoyed our stay. It was quiet with a rural feel and very convenient. We enjoyed meals on the enclosed porch and I enjoyed the groovy tea pots and tasteful decor.”

“Beach cottage (also called Orowaru cottage) is a gem. We had a great week there. I can particularly recommend sitting on the front verandah watching the tide roll in and out. Deeply peaceful. And well appointed for your every need. We used the cottage as a base to explore the Hokianga and Whangape Harbours. So many marae, so many early churches, friendly locals wherever we went. I came home with a lovely handmade rug from the Kohukohu Village Arts. The little Kohukohu library is another gem.”

“Lovely welcoming hosts, Lise was prompt and attentive. We just stayed the one night but it was a very restful and relaxing stay, very private and serene garden areas to enjoy, and all just a short walk to the Kohukohu CBD : ) Very handy to the pub and shop and just across the street from the bowls club where the locals will happily welcome you for a sneaky beverage, there’s some folks there enjoying a bowl and a beer most nights during the summer nights.”

“We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Log house! We were surprised it managed to sleep all 12 of us in the whare. The views were amazing, the nature, cows and sheep you could see from the balcony. Host had provided us with heaps of towels, extra blankets and an extra couch for my big family. Would suggest taking a car good for gravel and stone roads as it's like that all the way to the house but it's soo worth it! Communication with the host has made this trip so much easier! would go again. ”

“The walk down the track was great, lead to a beautiful private beach. House was as expected just a basic old school batch. Some where to rest your head after your days at the beach. The location is great & quite private, with a hige back lawn! Great big deck to relax on after a day of swimming.”
