"Nice staff and great location if you're visiting the castle. But let down by shower head always dropping so I ended up holding it while using and absence of any shampoo/shower gel. Also it was a very hot evening when we stayed but the windows keept shutting close not allowing fresh air to come in. Overall for the price and the one night it was fine. One tip: if you're arriving after 5pm, there are plenty of on street parking which is free 5pm till 9am."

"Definitely recommend The Fleece Inn!
Really good property to stay at for a really good price, the staff were extremely accommodating, always making our stay as welcoming as possible, breakfast was great, and the pub itself is perfect for a drink and a lovely meal!"

"It's quite a basic hotel but great for an overnight or short stay. It was comfortable, clean and had what we needed. Walls are a little thin so sound travels. Staff were very friendly and helpful."

"A lovely hotel convenient location. Breakfast was excellent with an extensive hot buffet service. My only gripe would be the disabled parking. They do have spaces right next to the door but there are no signs, except on the floor. We were blocked in by a very inconsiderate driver who claimed he didn't know it was disabled parking. Also the other space had a car in it with no displayed disabled badge. Perhaps a sign on the post infront of the parking spaces would be good asking for badges to be displayed or face a fine etc. We had to wait until the manager could locate the person responsible so we could even get into our car."
"Overall, it was a great experience and we really enjoyed our stay. However, there were a few things that could be improved.
The £50 holding fee for damages was charged per night rather than per booking. Although it was refunded within 3–5 working days after checkout, I feel £50 per booking would be more reasonable. It was also convenient that the holding fee could be paid using any card, so it didn’t have to be the same card used to book the accommodation.
The parking arrangements were a little stressful. A new ticket is issued every time you enter, meaning that even if you have paid for 24 hours, you need another ticket if you leave and return. I had to keep going to reception to have additional tickets cancelled. It would be much more convenient to pre-book parking for the duration of your stay with unlimited entry and exit.
The spa and pool phone policy was also disappointing. Phones were not allowed, which meant we couldn’t take pictures or videos to capture memories. However, we noticed guests using their phones in the pool and spa areas, even if they weren’t taking pictures. As the rule didn’t appear to be consistently enforced, it felt unfair to those who followed it. A designated phone area or consistent enforcement would be helpful.
Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend the hotel."
"Beautiful hotel, amazing location and grounds. The hotel was extremely clean and well kept. All the staff were lovely and polite. The food was good although the evening menu a little limited. Really enjoyed our stay and felt very relaxed and recharged. Will definitely be visiting again."
"A nice spacious room, with large comfortable bed. A good sized TV.
Very helpful staff, particularly the manager when we first arrived.
Parking in the street was our preferred option, as it is only chargeable from 8.00am till 6.00pm, when we were mostly out. The in-house car park is very expensive.
Breakfast was good but too much hot food is put out at once, meaning it soon gets cold. They would be far better bringing it out a bit at a time."
"We requested to change rooms due to the bunk beds being too small
Staff went above and beyond to help and gave us a wonderful room to stay in. Brilliant, thank you"
