Def Leppard Ticket Information

Since forming in 1977, the English rock band Def Leppard has become one of the most recognized names in hard rock. Over the last 4 decades, they’ve released 11 studio albums and sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. They are 1 of only 5 rock bands—alongside The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Van Halen—to have 2 original studio albums, Pyromania and Hysteria, sell more than 10 million copies each in the US. The band has been credited with reviving the sound of British heavy metal, thanks to their combination of husky, harmonic vocals, melodic guitar riffs, and catchy hooks. Their unique style helped to distinguish them from the harsher contemporary metal and punk bands, and their sound has influenced a wide range of other artists from Metallica to Taylor Swift. Def Leppard has definitely been around the block, but they’re not slowing down anytime soon. Fans both new and old rush to grab tickets to see this legendary rock band on tour.

Def Leppard History & Tours

Def Leppard was formed in Sheffield, England as part of the new wave of British heavy metal. They immediately began recording sessions for a 3-song EP, off of which the track “Getcha Rocks Off” gained extensive airplay on BBC Radio 1. Over the next few years, the band built a loyal following among British hard rock and heavy metal fans. After releasing their debut album, On Through the Night, Def Leppard rose to international fame with their second album, High ‘n’ Dry. The single “Bringin’ on the Heartbreak” became one of the first metal videos played on MTV, and soon the band was opening for the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Blackfoot. The band saw their greatest success in the early-to-late ‘80s with albums Pyromania and Hysteria, both of which have been named by Rolling Stone as one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Chart-topping singles such as “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Love Bites,” and “Rock of Ages” have only proved the band’s staying power. Most recently, the band released their self-titled 2015 album, which won them the Classic Rock Roll of Honours Award for Album of the Year. In 2018, Def Leppard is hitting the road on a North American tour with rock legends Journey.
