Coachella Ticket Information

Coachella 2023

Hundreds of thousands of attendees descend upon Indio, California for what has become a festival of music and art. The Empire Polo Field has housed “the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival” since 1999. Commonly referred to as just “Coachella” the festival has become something of an enigma within the music and performing arts world. What was originally created one-week post-Woodstock ’99, (dubbed a safe, environmentally friendly, welcoming environment) has evolved into an annual gathering spot for the hottest musicians (mainstream as well as up-and-coming), as well as a melting pot for brands, celebrities, influencers, and the global elite. The Coachella experience is just that, an experience.

What used to be a one-day show, now runs two consecutive weekends in April, with a who’s who of musical acts. Gaining access to this 2-weekend party is also something of a challenge. In past years, tickets sell out sometimes in less than an hour. The long-awaited lineups dictate just how much hype and demand will surround the weekend. Along with the musical acts, art installations and interactive activations become prime photo-ops for attendees. Art exhibits, food trucks, a Ferris Wheel, and brand-exclusive tents, all make Coachella just some of what it is. It is estimated that close to half a billion posts on social media occur just in the first weekend alone.

Can’t get a ticket to the show? No worries! Within the last few years, YouTube has regularly livestreamed the festival. Beyonce’s 2018 performance not only smashed livestream records, but it became the most-watched streamed event of all time, garnering over 41 million views. What started as a small niche concert has evolved into an all-encompassing PR/Marketing/Entertainment machine. It’s no surprise that the fashion world has managed to leverage Coachella. Brands will routinely invite social media’s “top” fashion influencers and dress them head-to-toe in the latest threads. The event has turned into an extension of fashion week.

Coachella is also famous for surprise band reunions, and appearances. From Justin Bieber making an appearance during Ariana Grande’s act, to 2Pac’s hologram during a Dr. Dre set, and of course who can ever forget in 2016 when Guns N’ Roses took the stage.
