Dallas Stars Ticket Information

Normally it’s hard to find ice in Texas—but not at the American Airlines Center where the Dallas Stars consistently impress crowds of cheering fans. The team is skating their way through the Central Division in hopes of taking home the second Stanley Cup in team history. Whether you’ve been a fan since they were known as the Minnesota North Stars or are a more recent enthusiast, tickets to a Dallas Stars game guarantee engaging entertainment for the whole family.

Stellar History

The team now known as the Dallas Stars started as the Minnesota North Stars in 1967. Then in 1978, financial issues caused the North Stars to merge with the Cleveland Barons, but the team retained their extra-terrestrial name. After facing some very personal legal problems, Norm Green decided to move to Dallas, citing falling attendance. In their inaugural 1993–94 season, the Dallas Stars won their first game against the Detroit Red Wings and went on to make it all the way to the second round of the NHL Playoffs thanks in no small part to Mike Modano’s spectacular 50-goal season. With the addition of defenseman Sergei Zubov and goaltender Ed Belfour, the team was primed for success and, in 1998, made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals but fell just short of the cup. The next year, Joe Nieuwendyk and Jere Lehtinen contributed to the team taking home Presidents' Trophy (for having the best record) and the Jennings Trophy (for best defense), and the Stars ended up finally making it all the way to the Stanley Cup. They met the Buffalo Sabres in the finals and took the series in 6 games thanks to a controversial overtime goal by Brett Hull. The Dallas Stars made it to the Stanley Cup finals again the next year but fell short of back-to-back championships. Since then, the team has regularly appeared in the postseason and continue to be a threat in their conference.
