Detroit Tigers Ticket Information

One of the oldest names in baseball, the Tigers have been a fixture in Detroit for longer than the auto industry. With a reputation built on a seesaw of triumphs and tribulations, the team has been the bane of the sport’s most powerful franchises and fielded some of the best players in history. A ticket to Comerica Park lets you experience the latest chapter of Tigers history as they carry on that legacy to a new generation.

Since 1901

The Tigers are the only franchise in the American League to have kept their original name and home city since the day the league was founded. Their first game featured an epic 10-run comeback in the 9th inning for the kind of underdog win that would become a Detroit specialty. The team played in 5 World Series before they scored their first win in 1935 against the Chicago Cubs. They got their second title in a rematch 10 years later—becoming a major factor in the longest championship drought in baseball.

The Tigers themselves wouldn’t return to the World Series until 1968, when they came back from a Game 1 shutout to win the series in 7. Another decade of decline led the “bless you boys” to their next comeback in 1984, in a season that started off with Jack Morris’ no-hitter against the White Sox and led to their fourth World Series win. And after bottoming out a league-record 119 losses in 2003, the Tigers came back in force, winning their 11th league pennant in 2012.

Always a Tiger

Whether they’re up or down, the Tigers show you the indomitable spirit that has carried the team forward for more than a century. The team that fielded greats like Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, Willie Horton, Mickey Lolich, and Alan Trammell is looking ahead to their next historic moment, and you can find one of the best things to do in the Motor City with tickets to a Tigers game.
