Wonderful location, short drive or easy walk into Westport!
Our room had two corner windows with lovely view of the well groomed property. Breakfast excellent!
Knockranny was very good, most especially every member of staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble, and who were amazingly good at remembering guests.
The public areas of the hotel are excellent and the grounds are lovely - indeed I don’t think the photo does the hotel justice.
Bedrooms probably need a wee bit of updating.
This is a fine property. The restaurant offers nice views to Croagh Patrick. The double bedroom we stayed in - in the new part looking onto a courtyard - was large, with comfortable bed and well-appointed; although a bit cooler than I would have liked. Service was generally OK but at the price point which this hotel operates at it was less than expectations on some aspects.
very good hotel overall but rooms badly need updating with new modern furniture and the bathrooms are long past their best. Would rate this hotel more of a good 3 star than a 4 star. Other 4 star hotels we have stayed in recently in the west of Ireland were a lot better.
Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. Immaculate cleanliness - witnessed staff cleaning skirting boards and dusting walls !
Food excellent and restaurant staff friendly , professional with a bit of craic thrown in. Views from dining room such a bonus.
My wife had a massage in the spa and said it was one of the best ever.
Would thoroughly recommend
Great hotel! Our room was amazing - large, nicely furnished, very comfortable and quiet. Our bathroom was enormous with a spa bath, separate shower, loo, bidet and two sinks. Would definitely recommend.
The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from downtown. Our breakfast attendant did not seem very happy, but the rest of the staff was very nice. The room was extensive and VERY quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Just a 15 minute walk from center of Waterford. Convenient parking, quiet.
It was a first class stay, all the way from the check-in procedure, to the quality of the room, to the quality of the dining room food for both dinner and breakfast. They have an award-winning chef and have achieved culinary excellence. By far one of the best hotel stays, I have had.
Food options few and choices limited. Busy place with weddings and tours. Poor access to rooms. Only front entrance ,stairs long hallways and maze of doors and hallways. Not a good choice for easy in and out. Also limited dining options in surrounding area.
We started off badly as our room was described as with partial sea and garden view. When we checked into our room all we could see was the wall of a building. A phone call to reception and a bit of a discussion got us moved to a much nicer room. To be clear, this hotel is not close to the sea but you can see it in the distance.
I felt that the person on reception handled a difficult situation well.
We ate in the bar as we have done nothing but eat for days. The food was delicious but be aware that it's not cheap.
Very good staff.
