Very easy to find, nice and comfy rooms. Had a ground level room which was great because it was pouring rain at the time we arrived. But the people upstairs were very noisy and pounding a lot, so consider that if staying here. Very walkable into Bar Harbor, seems very safe. Very quiet neighborhood. Lots of food options nearby, we had a car but chose to walk. Everything about the room was nice aside from the inconsiderate people upstairs, which isn't the motel's fault. Would stay there again!

Great spot
Very much enjoyed staying here. Staff was really helpful and provided great suggestions about things to do and see in the Mount Desert Island area. Very close to the action downtown.

Anchorage had a homey feel to it. The rooms looked like they were recently updated, styled very cute and simple. It was very cleanly and comfortable. The location was perfect for walking anywhere in town. We did not need a car while there (but it looked like there was plenty of parking available). The staff was beyond friendly, helping us navigate the town, giving recommendations, and letting us store our luggage when we arrived earlier than check in. Overall we loved our stay here and would book again.

We stayed 3 nights and had a great experience! Clean rooms, ours looked to be renovated, friendly staff, and was very walkable to all the downtown food and shopping. They had muffins and coffee in the mornings. On the day we checked out the front desk said we were still free to use the parking lot for the rest of the day which was really helpful as we planned to spend some more time in town before leaving.

Decent stay but small beds
The hotel is an older property but well maintained and clean. Not much to look at in the rooms but that didn’t spoil anything for us. Easy walk downtown and close to everything. The only detractor from our comfort was the double (full size) beds. Families may want to consider reserving two rooms. My husband and I were a tight fit on one bed so I shared the other bed with our daughter. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. Complimentary coffee and blueberry muffins in the morning!

We loved arriving to a very clean room. It was a bonus finding out that there was coffee available in the lobby 24/7!!! Fresh and delicious muffins at 7:00 in the morning made our morning start so much easier and we absolutely LOVED that they had a large commercial ice machine available!!! Kudos for that! Staff were friendly and helpful, town was within walking distance so we didn’t have to worry about finding parking, and WiFi was provided. We will definitely be staying again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My husband went fishing and they let us keep our fish in their freezer until we left. They were helpful with restaurants too. Our room was clean and the outdoor area was nice to sit in. Great buy for The money!!

Clean, well maintined, within short walking distance of shops and places to eat, staff very helpful with places to eat and things to see and do. Only issue and it wasn't a big deal to us is that the tv didn't always work. It would freeze up alot.

Hotel still advertises 24 hour front desk. We had a prepaid reservation but were left stranded due to this. Despite advertising a 24 hour front desk and advising hotel of arrival time, no one was there after midnight. Hotel lobby was locked and phone number posted at hotel to reach front desk was disconnected.

Our property has undergone manny updates and renovations in the past few years, from paint to linens and mattresses to landscaping, etc. We feel our rooms are reasonably sized and appropriately furnished, as it is very common for one nightstand to be shared between 2 double beds.
