Rooms are spacious. Loved the walk-in shower. Beautiful courtyards with magnolia trees. Would like to see the back fountain be cleaned so that the water runs on all sides - moss has taken over. The pnly negative about the room was that the tile floors needed to be cleaned of dirt. Otherwise, a great place and would definitely go back.

This was the best surprise! We loved this hotel and the only reason for some ratings of 4 is because our room (123) needed an update. Paint was peeling and it had a slightly musty smell until we put the air conditioning up. The hotel is a half block from Jackson Square and a short walk across the square to Cafe Du Monde and the carriage rides, artists and music in the square. The first bus stop for the Hop on Hop Off bus is on the opposite corner of the square and the shops on Royal are half a block up from the hotel. Bourbon Street is a two minute walk. We were delighted by the convenience to everything. The people who work there (love Stuart!) are friendly and wonderful. They let you leave your luggage if you get there early and also if you leave late. The pool are is lovely but it was too cold to swim (early April). Some downsides: People smoke in the courtyard, which isn't great -- they should have a different area not in the courtyard because it's not pleasant for others. Also, it was a little disconcerting that the cleaning staff were around all day with their carts and towels and the vacuum cleaner just laying on the ground in the courtyard. They were constantly going back and forth and were kind of intrusive. It would be fine if it wasn't that way all day from 8 to 5 but honestly these are little things!

We loved this place! So much character, beautiful courtyard, and perfect location! Pool wasn’t heated, which was the only bummer for my 9 and 10 year olds. But otherwise fantastic and would definitely stay there again!!

This New Orleans hotel has it all! Gorgeous courtyards, history, character, charm, and convenience. Steps away from Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral, yet it wasn’t loud at night. The staff were incredibly hospitable and helpful! They’ll even store your things if you’re early or late for check in and out! Your car is safe with their onsite valet garage. We will be back!

Nice property with excellent staff. Pretty pool area. Very close to the river, Jackson Square just down the block. Walk to Bourbon St. Frenchman St. for music if fairly close walking.

After reading many reviews I was a little sceptical if I had decided on the right hotel for us. Both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised by how much we loved this place. The room was a little small but plenty sufficient for the two of us. It was a clean and unique room with an awesome brick wall, it truly felt like we had stepped back in time. Loved the location and can't say a bad think about it. We will be back.

I thought this property said it was really quiet, but I heard other room doors opening and closing all night. Monday was worse than Tuesday. I also felt like the floor in my room was really dirty when I walked around barefoot( not just felt, they were really dirty after too).

This is my 5th time staying here. I always choose Place De Arms due to location, cleanliness, awesome staff, beautiful and charming compound and ghosts!!!! Yes! Twice we stayed in the main building and each time we experienced craziness. Once the hair dryer started by itself as the lights started blinking and another stay in a different room my friend woke to a young woman in old fashioned clothes sitting on my bed looking at her as a small boy in old fashioned clothes was staring down at me…. Sleeping. 😳 Wouldn’t stay anywhere else. 😆❤️

Absolutely loved the property. The room was quaint and easy to access. The proximity to everything was perfect - walkable to Harrahs, Bourbon, Jackson Square and so much more. There’s a beautiful courtyard. I felt safe and comfortable the property. The staff seemed very unhappy to work there, for the most part. Our room wasn’t ready, even after 4; and the front desk employee couldn’t get anyone from housekeeping to answer. After waiting a while, we were offered and accepted another room. We asked for 4 k-cups of coffee but were only allowed 2. At departure, we asked to bring our vehicle down at the front desk and were told we had to call. We went back to the room and tried to call but no one answered. We ended up having to go back to the lobby with our bags to request our car, and wait for about 25 minutes while we watched several other folks request their car the way we had tried without refusal. I was even chastised by the front desk employee that we were told to call from the room, and she seemed really irritated with us when we informed her we had tried several times but no one answered. Hopefully it was just a bad day for a few folks.
