I cannot rate this hotel high enough,from check in till our departure we were treated so well by the friendly owner and his staff. The rooms were amazing,very,very clean,the breakfast was super and tasty and lots of it. The surrounding area is so quiet and if that’s what you’re after then this hotel is ideal. We would definitely stay there again, oh and thank you for the early check in,I really appreciated that. Thanks again for everything.

Heel fijne sfeer, rustig gelegen en heerlijk ontbijt. Heel tevreden over het verblijf. Maar schandelijk hoe een vrouwelijke gast tekeer is gegaan tegen eigenaar, omdat de douche koud was. Ook ik heb koud gedoucht s’avonds, maar de volgende ochtend was alles al opgelost. Soms kan er iets mis gaan maar er is alles aan gedaan hoorde ik van de eigenaar om dit snel op te lossen tijdens de nachtelijke uren. Echter voor die mevrouw bestond er geen excuses en met haar geschreeuw was dit vele malen erger voor andere gasten dan een koude douche! Maar mevrouw excuses kunnen altijd nog aangeboden worden!!!

Dutch gem in the countryside
What a find! hotel used whilst visiting for world superbike at Assen. Location was lovely, in rural setting, pretty part of country. Check in great, rooms were huge, clean and comfortable. evening meal was tasty. All staff were friendly, made us feel welcome, all smiling and gave impression that nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Cannot think of anything to improve this hotel, just carry on doing what you're doing. We will be returning

Dutch gem in the countryside
What a find! hotel used whilst visiting for world superbike at Assen. Location was lovely, in rural setting, pretty part of country. Rural Netherlands
A genuine hotel in the back roads of The Netherlands. Very rural setting with peace and quiet. Everything shuts quite early in these towns so we had to get dinner elsewhere.

Bank Holiday Week-end in Drenthe
Good 3-Star hotel. Staff were friendly. Rooms were simple but clean. Breakfast was good. The only point I would like to add is that there are no rooms with 2 twin-beds available at this hotel. An extra bed was available. For the future Hotels.com should take note. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel.

Trip to BSB at Assen
I stayed in the Koekoekshof during a trip to the British Super Bikes at Assen. The hotel was excellent, my room was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious. The surrounding area is delightful, and i could not find fault with the accommodation during my stay therefore i would rate the Koekoekshof with full marks.

Quite hot in a very quiet village
Great staff (long-time family owned I believe), nice room, and we had a really wonderful dinner there. Not much (actually nothing) going on in Elp but it is scenic and peaceful.

I was here for one night with my 4 year old daughter. The hotel is hard to find (we drove there), as it is quietly nestled in the stunning countryside of the Netherlands. The hotel looks like someone's home that appears very well maintained. The welcome I received was warm and we were excited to stay. The rooms have a soothing quality about them and appear unique in a sense (with brick walls). The dinner was decent, with good quality ingredients, but overpriced. I ended up paying about 100 euros for a steak plate, chicken nuggets plate, and a cod plate. There was a fly which kept flying around the tables which was disruptive. There was a man who plays multiple roles there, he served food, he was the guest relations person, and he seemed like the security person too. He was about 5'7, dressed casually, and has a receeding hair line. He was mean to me and my child; he offered no help with our luggage when we were picking up our luggage at 9 :30 pm. In fact, he said 'shouldn't she be going to bed?'. I was shocked. Then, the hotel staff locks the doors at night without warning, so guests are locked in. I did not like that. Then, when checking out, he asked if we will eat breakfast and I responded 'no because we are running late, but maybe next time'. He walked away and said 'yeah right, next time'. Wow. He was unprofessional and disrespectful and I was glad to leave asap. Never again. This is unfortunate for my first time in The Netherlands.

Very friendly, great food, highly recommended
The rooms here are modest but roomy, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a little dated but absolutely fine. We were given a warm welcome, the garage we'd requested for our bicycles was waiting for us and we got a very strong impression of a team who genuinely love what they do and care about their guests. The food was absolutely amazing, and the wine great too. I forgot my Mac power supply, called the hotel and they put it in the post the next morning - great service.

De Koekoekshof hotel stay
Exellent hotel, family run and nothing is too much trouble. Food was great, would recommend you stay at De Koekoekshof hotel if you are visiting that part of Holland.

This hotel was in a very quiet village off the beaten track but in a lovely area. The owners were great and so friendly. The prices were very good and the rooms were spacious and clean. We stayed off season so had the place virtually to ourselves. All aspects of the stay were first class with a personal touch that is so often missing from a large chain of hotels. If I was working in the area again I wouldnt hesitate to book this hotel again.

Wij begrijpen heel goed dat u ons een slechte beoordeling geeft, maar als u na sluitingstijd een boeking maakt en nog verwacht dat er midden in de nacht voor u iemand opgetrommeld wordt, dan moeten wij u helaas teleurstellen. Als wij dan besluiten, omdat u zeer dreigend tekeerging door de telefoon, uw geld niet te restitueren (op basis van uw non-refundable geboekte rate), dan begrijpen wij heel goed dat u dit niet prettig vind. Vonden wij namelijk ook niet toen u dreigde zelf een ingang te maken in het hotel als wij niet open zouden doen.

De standaard kamer is prima, jammer dat er weinig koffie is totaal 4 cups, elk 1 bakkie voor de avond en slechts 1 voor de ochtend. Voor het ontbijt misten wij de bolletjes, kadetjes, maar ook de warme etenswaren, zoals gebakken ei, spek en of pancakes. Verder waren zij erg vriendelijk. Ik vergelijk het met de Hotels VD Valk (daar heb ik 5-jaeren lang dagelijks gelogeerd via mijn werk) en dat is misschien niet terecht, sorry daarvoor dan.

Wij willen u danken voor uw review, ton.Het klopt dat ons ontbijtbuffet niet zo uitgebreid is als die van een VD Valk. Weliswaar gebruiken wij nagenoeg alleen echt dagverse producten van lokale ondernemers (elke dag vers gebakken brood, vrije uitloopeieren van de pluimveehouder om de hoek, zuivel van de melkveehouder). In deze visie passen de diepvriesproducten (bolletjes etc) die de vogelketen gebruiken, niet. Wat betreft het aanbod aan warme producten, deze maken wij a la minute op aanvraag van de gasten als het rustiger is, zoals tijdens uw verblijf. Overige warme items zoals pancakes, worstjes etc hebben wij mee geëxperimenteerd, maar deze moesten wij helaas na elk ontbijt onaangetast weggooien.Wat betreft de gratis aangeboden koffie en thee op de kamers, dit is voor ons een service, maar u had altijd mogen vragen voor meer stuks als u geen genoeg had aan 4 koppen koffie op de kamer naast de koffie bij het ontbijtbuffet en onze vers gemalen koffie overdag.Wij willen u zeer danken voor uw feedback en uw komst bij ons in Elp
