Staff was pleasant. Room was clean. Building seems to be a little more run down than the last time I was there. Worst of all, the cigarette smoke was very strong. I woke up several times because I could smell the cigarette smoke through my CPAP mask! I’m disappointed because this used to be a great place to stay.

The property is a bit dated. But, it is clean and the staff is great. Plenty of parking. There is a pool and a hot tub.

Excellent customer service
The Bellingham lodge team has excellent customer service. We made reservations for 4 nights, but needed to stay in town for a week. Instead of changing hotels we extended our stay at the Bellingham Lodge. Fresh waffles every morning!

Great staff!
The staff were amazingly kind and helpful to all guests. I didn't have the waffles but they smelled great. The hallways smelled a little smoky, but the rooms were clean and pleasant.

Property is older. They have smoking and non smoking rooms, unfortunately you can still kind of smell the smoke in the non smoking rooms. That said, bed was really comfortable, room condition was good, bathroom shower had great pressure. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, offering tips about local experiences. They really put effort into making your stay comfortable. I would stay here again.

The room was smokey. The guy at the desk was very sympathetic and had someone do extra cleaning which helped a little, and I kept the window cracked open and the fan running. Despite the smokey smell the bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent, the room was quiet, and I slept well both nights, which is a rarity for me. We stayed here for parents' weekend at WWU. Most hotels were booked and prices were high so I looked for something basic, knowing we'd be out most of the time anyway, not hanging out in the room. I think our room would have smelled smokey no matter how hard a person cleaned. Changing old carpets and floors and fresh paint might help.

Comfortable and secure stay in Bellingham
I've stayed here before, and it has always been a comfortable stay. Front desk is helpful, breakfast in the morning is fresh, and the lobby area is comfortable if you need to wait before checkin or after checkout.

The location is great, walkable to the university and downtown. The building was quiet and windows ooen for fresh air. Bui and room are a bit run down and could benefit from carpet paint and caulk.

In the halls you could smell/tell that the rooms were or had been smoking rooms. Once inside my room the smell was gone. The room very clean and pleasant.
