Breakfast was unimaginative. Food supply truck arrived too late first day. Staff called in sick second day. Staff that was there did the best the could. We went elsewhere for breakfast 3rd morning. Card key system had multiple problems. Room for fellow traveler was unmade. Toilet overflowed. Room was quiet and we slept well. All staff was pleasant and tried to overcome these problems. I would pay more & go somewhere else.

We initially rented 2 rooms at another hotel for our daughter & friends and another for us for her 14th birthday. When I arrived at check-in, I was informed the pool was out of order and apparently had been for weeks. That was the whole point of the reservation! I cancelled that reservation and made new arrangements from their parking lot. When we arrived, literally 10 minutes later, Amanda was able to get us rooms close together and the pool was working. The girls had a blast and the rooms are basically soundproof, so I was able to relax. Breakfast was fantastic and a very wasy way to feed seven teenage girls. I saw that I could buy the shampoos etc online, but I would really like to be able to purchase the coffee. Thank you, Amanda, for accomodating us so quickly.

got locked out of the room, panel would not work, all it did was bèep a long beep for over an hour, finally was let in manually then was told to switch rooms Broken makers in both rooms, not too clean

Older property but in good condition. The indoor pool was out of service. Breakfast was good, hot and decent options. Bed was ok, not the best but certainly not the worst. Overall good for the price IMO.

Holiday Inn Express is our go to place to stay (Ohio). This property needs to be updated. Rate should be $99 per night.

I loved the staff - extremely helpful in surprising my daughter with her best friend that came in from a different state - even putting us in rooms next to each other! I didn’t like how there were unsupervised soccer kids running up and down the hallways knocking on my door and running away constantly. The rooms need maintenance for water damage in the bathroom above the shower, and they are dated. The staff made it worth it though for being amazing.

Yuck!
On the way up to the room I was a little nervous because the property was a little run down, but I convinced myself it was just in need of a little updating/maintenance. However, we got to the room and upon entering we were horrified to find the bathroom in grotesque condition. Urine all over the toilet seat and a questionable sticky substance on the bathroom counter. Shower curtain also gross looking with grime. We automatically start to question if anything else had even been cleaned as the bed looked as if a hurried teenager had made it. We then quickly went back down to the desk to let them know and request another room or for it to be cleaned. They were sold out so could not move us and no one could authorize a reverse transaction so we were stuck. Front desk sent someone to clean but after we got back to the room it seemed as though only the toilet had been cleaned as counter and everything else was the same. We were helpless, and decided to reluctantly stay and touch as little as possible. Thought maybe the tv would help distract us but it was not in working order. Needless to say this was a terrible experience for us, we did not sleep well and made sure to throughly clean ourselves and belongings when we got home. In the morning, we once again stopped by the front desk to let them know how bad of an experience we had. They had me write my phone # down on a piece of paper so the manager could contact me. I haven’t heard from the manager yet and $200+ still charged. 😭

I did not stay at this hotel. It was filthy dirty. There were empty liquor bottles in the nightstands, empty wrappers on the floor. The bathroom was not clean. There was a stench of urine.

Not recommended
Loud semi truck noise from I94 was unbearable. Total lack of USB ports for charging phones. Unexceptionable in this day and age. Strange smell in hallways. You can’t cover it up by lowering the thermostat. Ceilings are stained all over the place appliances from water damage. Speaking of water, water noise cycling on and off all nite long. Overall was certainly not worth the money spent here. Because of this experience we will not utilize Holiday Inn ever again. This building is due for a major renovation or razing.

what I DID NOT like was that there was no one at the desk when I tried to check in at 9:00 pm on Friday 6/30. There was a note saying "be right back". I waited at least 30 minutes standing at the front desk until someone finally came. He said he had to 'take care of something' outside. When I checked out the next day, I asked the front desk staff to email me my receipt for the stay - I have yet to receive that in my email. I had wanted to print it, but they could not print it for me at the desk. ALSO - carpet in our room and elevator was filthy dirty. I am very disappointed in staff and room.

Positive - front desk staff was polite Negative - pool is in need of repair, also all 7 that entered the pool became itchy and had burning eyes Negative - hotel needs updating and common areas could be cleaner Negative - no soap in the room, no bedding for pullout, and not enough towels Negative - housekeeping slamming doors starting at 7:30 am and knocking on our door at 8 am. This was ridiculous!!!

Tammy, I do apologize that you did not enjoy your stay with us recently. We do strive to keep the public areas clean and tidy at all times. After Covid we do not leave linen in the rooms for the pullouts so that it is fresh for you when you request it. Our standard is also three towels in the room, but we are always very willing to bring more to you. Please try us again next time you are in the Kalamazoo area so that we may show you what a great hotel we really are.

I have stayed at enough Holiday Inn Express Hotels to know this one is not up to par. The toilet was stuck on continuous flushing when we walked in. And it required me to jiggle the handle every time it was flushed. There were still sticky spots from a drink ring on the bedside table and the hallway steps were not swept. I purposely paid extra so we could have a couch to sit on and relax but - that was the most uncomfortable couch I have ever sat on. Super low to the ground and the cushions were so skinny the front hurt my legs. I know it was a pullout but ... OMG it was way worse than sitting on the bed. Also, we turned the tv on and it wouldn't play until the front desk came up and set it to the correct "mode" - a small hassle but a hassle nonetheless. NOT what I needed at the end of a very long day. Even finding this hotel was hard. We will not be back!

It was decorated very nicely for Christmas, however there is an overwhelming mildew smell, assumimg it is from the pool inside. Outside of that very convenient stay to be closer to Wings Event Center.

We were there to visit family and the manager allowed breakfast to be served until 9:30 instead of 8:30. We are all elderly and on vacation and 8:30 is rather early for us. We really appreciated it!!
