Lovely hotel in a great location . Wonderful breakfast and clean , spacious rooms. Could do with additional staff at reception from time to time ( when big group parties arrive etc) but overall a great stay

Beautiful place by the fjords. Blessed to see the northern lights both nights that we were there by just stepping outside the hotel restaurant and out at our cabin balcony. Absolutely amazing and hassle free. Restaurant offered nice meals. We were 9 traveling together. 6 of us stayed at a beautiful cabin and 3 at the hotel. Staff very nice and helpful. Manager very kindly offered help to my daughter when my granddaughter needed medical attention. He drove them to the medical facility, waited and drove them back. He was truly a Good Samaritan. We are forever grateful. Malangen is beautiful but it is a secluded place. Be prepared. No taxis, other restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy… just the hotel, cabins and nature to enjoy. Also you need to be prepared to haul your luggage from the hotel reception to your cabin. But overall it is worth the visit. Highly recommend it. We went from Tromso in the shuttle buses they offer. A nice 1 1/2 hour ride

Room not perfectly clean upon arrival, previous guests’ food and plastic bags left in the drawers in the bedroom. Carpet not clean at all, slippers essential. Gym and sauna difficult to locate. Gym is a few dumbbells and not even a treadmill. Food was not great, it was ok but there was little choice (particularly at dinner) and staff were incredibly slow at refreshing dishes. Waited 15+ mins for more of the one dinner option (tomato pollock), rice was also empty for about 10 minutes. Equally slow at refreshing breakfast dishes so it was just a case of being lucky with timing. Multiple dishes often empty at the same time, so could not get hot breakfast or fruit. Dinner hours also incredibly short at 6-8pm. No cleaning service to the room, which I didn’t find essential anyway. However, it is frustrating to have to ask for bins to be emptied on a 5-night stay - at least one clean should be scheduled for a stay of that length. Hotel is well-located but pricey for the service received. Didn’t pay for premium view but literally got a view of a wall, not even nice street view. Worth it if you can get a good price, otherwise look elsewhere.
