Great location! The hotel is old. Really surprised to see that a bunch of garbage stuff has been piled inside the main entrance.

Everything about this hotel was top notch. Facilities and room was spotless and the staff was very kind and helpful. The location was fantastic with subway access across the street, We will stay here again.

Location was great, easy to travel to anywhere

Absolutely amazing price for value or cost. Excellent breakfast and dinners. Tasty, healthy and variety.

Great location right on top of metro station and bus stop with lots of excellent restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Seoul main train station is 16 mins walk away if using the KTX (we did a day trip to Busan). Room could use more mirrors in it, eg full length mirror and one for applying makeup as room lighting is too dark. Really appreciated being able to check in early off an overnight flight from London at 11am as we had booked 8 nights so we could freshen up before going out for the day.

Beautiful hotel and gracious hosts. One of the best hotels I’ved stayed in Seoul. And the view, amazing.

I highly recommend Caelum Black Gangnam, it was such an easy location between two subway stations, eateries and coffee shops close by but most of all, the communication and hospitality of the management team was exceptional. There was a little mishap with parking, but Seri, the property manager went above and beyond to make things right. Also overall communication with any questions and requests were prompt. I will definitely return to Korea and Caelum Black for sure!

Great location,close to the train for walking for shopping, good food and safe area

I loved this hotel. Quiet area. I upgraded to a room on a higher floor. The bed and bedding were super comfortable. Slept better here than at home. Great location with Coex Mall across the street. Subway and bus stop right next to the hotel. Favorite coffee shop and Olive Young within steps. Left cash in safe and they saved for me. Will return to this new favorite hotel in new favorite city.

The room is very clean. Amenities are provided. It is right in the Center of all the shopping galore in Myeongdong. I’ll stay here again if I ever come back to Seoul.

The staff were all very friendly, kind, and helpful throughout my stay. The hotel itself is relatively old, especially the plumbing. My room was small, but it was a comfortable size for one person. I really appreciated having both a washer & dryer in the room, which made doing laundry convenient. The hotel also has a dedicated laundry floor if needed. There is a gym with a good selection of equipment and a decent amount of space. However, when I visited in June 2026, the A/C wasn't working, so it became quite hot inside. They had a door propped open to improve airflow, but it was still warm. One thing to note is that my hotel bathroom has a notice asking guests not to flush toilet paper, sanitary products, or any foreign objects because the older plumbing can clog easily. If you're from a Western country, disposing of used toilet paper in the provided trash bin instead of flushing it may feel unusual or unsanitary. The bathroom trash can is pretty small, so I had daily housekeeping to empty it, which helped. The bidet in my bathroom wasn't working, and neither was the electrical outlet in the bathroom. Overall, I think the hotel offers reasonable value for the price. However, there are several nearby hotels that cost only slightly more and may provide larger rooms, newer facilities, and plumbing that allows toilet paper which may be preferable if that's what you're accustomed to.
