Dutch Antilles Romantic Vacations

I was a solo female traveler hesitant to stay at a family-friendly hotel for a variety of reasons. I typically stay at Adults-Only all-inclusive resorts when in the Caribbean. My deluxe room Octagon was located in the room next to the pool. The screaming children took some time to get adjusted to. The bartenders by the pool were semi-friendly, but I am an upbeat person, so I rarely let the moods of others impact my own. On my way out to a rooftop in Willemstad I saw the hugest cockroach roaming around in the hotel foyer. That was a turn off. I did not see any bugs in my room thankfully, but I was only there for one night. The highlight of my stay included the non-alcoholic beverage welcome drink, my amazing bubble baths and dipping into their private beach at night. I would not go back nor recommend unless it is for a family vacation. At check-in I was informed that I had a $50 credit and to also put $100 hold on my debit card. Upon checking out the receptionist would not honor the verbal $50 credit I was promised due to not booking directly through the hotel’s website.

Our stay was mostly amazing, and overall we had a great experience at the resort. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made our trip enjoyable. We did have one minor incident involving a worker named Juliana. We needed bath towels and asked for assistance, but she informed us that they should already be in the room and didn’t seem very willing to help. Of course, we wouldn’t have asked if the towels had been there. Thankfully, Dinyda was willing to assist us, and we really appreciated her willingness to help. A special shoutout to Latoya, the bartender, who was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, attentive, and really added to our experience. Johanely at the front desk was also wonderful, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. The rest of the front desk staff were great as well and made us feel welcomed. Despite the minor challenges, we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The positives far outweighed the negatives, and we would absolutely recommend this resort to others!
