Flight Deals tool analyzes millions of flights in real time,
sourcing new deals for travelers every day

Expedia^® is unveiling a new interactive map as part of the Flight Deals feature in its app that helps travelers spot standout airfares at a glance, offering greater confidence in finding the best value flights.

The new map discovery experience, available on iOS, includes filters to set trip duration and travel dates, along with the option to create custom notifications to stay updated when new deals appear, making it easier for travelers to discover new destinations.

All features are powered by Expedia’s Flight Deals’ proprietary machine learning models, which evaluate flights found in the last 24 hours against typical predicted prices for the route and looks for flights that are at least 20% below the estimated price, helping flight-seekers quickly understand when a fare stands out.

It’s about making it easier to dream big, discover new places, and actually go.”

Most flight trackers watch prices; Flight Deals evaluates trips—starting with whether a flight would actually make sense for a traveler, then highlighting options with smart routing, reasonable layovers, and exceptional value.

Flight Deals scans millions of fares every day and presents only those that are at least 20% less than predicted for the route, while filtering out flights with more than one stop or super‑long layovers. The majority of Flight Deals found are 20%–35% below typical predictions for similar flights, with around one in ten priced 60% below estimated for the route.  

The Flights Deals experience is available in the Expedia app under the “Search” tab, then “Find Deals”. Travelers simply select a home airport and can instantly browse flight deals to destinations worldwide, with estimated price differences for the journey highlighted directly in the feed. Deals can be filtered by destination, trip duration and travel date, and travelers can further personalize their experience by creating custom deal alerts.
