“This was our easy, no-fuss overnight after a long day on the road: comfortable, dependable and right off I-40, with quick access to El Reno and Route 66 the next morning.”

“The New Corral was newly renovated, clean, comfortable, and a very affordable night directly along the Route 66 corridor. It's not trying to be a resort, but it is a genuine roadside motel that serves travelers as it always intended. It also brings a bit of nostalgia to the way old motor lodges looked. Great stop.”

“Community-built and open since 1927, the Monte Vista gave us history, Hollywood stories, and front row to downtown Flagstaff. The rooms make you really feel like you've stepped back in time and despite having the corner front room where a lot of traffic passes, we still had a great night of sleep.”

“The Monterey kept its 1936 motor-court soul while becoming a stylish, comfortable stay. We loved the revitalization, vintage desert atmosphere and location directly on Albuquerque's stretch of the Mother Road.”

“A beautiful stay at a place that opened in the 1930s as a Fred Harvey railroad hotel and was designed by Mary Colter as a resting place for Santa Fe Railway travelers. Definitely recommend on your Route 66 journey.”

“Operating since 1938, the Rail Haven delivers the classic motor-court experience with modern comfort. The neon, theme rooms, and fact that Elvis stayed in the room two doors down from our room, this is much more than a place to sleep.”

“The former bank building gave us history without sacrificing comfort, but the location sold us: we were able to walk right over to Gateway Arch the next morning before checkout, and then get right back on Route 66.”

“This place does not whisper Texas. The motel looks like an Old West town, the steak ranch is only steps away, and the pools is shaped like the state of Texas. We had so much fun here, and everything really is BIGGER IN TEXAS! The bed was SUPER COMFY!”

“This 1960s Route 66 motel has been completely brought back to life with bright Jet Age style and genuinely comfortable rooms. We loved seeing a once-faded property become somewhere we would highly recommend.”

“Built in 1882 and overlooking the lively Old Town Plaza, this hotel put us in the middle of Las Vegas history. The building has character inside and outside. Our room had tall window ceilings overlooking the town center garden. You know me and a good night's sleep... the bed was super comfy. You are on the road, but they have box fans to block out any street noise, but it gets quiet early.”

“This gave us an easy Route 66 overnight. Although we had breakfast up the road at the Wagon Wheel (highly recommended), they do offer free breakfast here, have a swimming pool for the hotter months, and is a great stop after crossing the Mojave.”

“This stay gave us historic Tulsa with personality: a restored 1927 Route 66 hotel where every room has its own theme. We stayed in Room 217, the Wiemann Room. It honors Ernest Wiemann Iron Works, founded in 1940, and contains pieces of ornamental ironwork.”

“We loved the Palmer House for its remarkable history, beautiful architecture, and spectacular ceilings. Its central location placed us near Chicago’s Route 66 landmarks and other must-see sites as we began our journey down the Mother Road.”

“We chose El Rancho because the first time we came to see where the movie stars stay and even grab some lunch told us, WE NEED TO COME BACK TO STAY HERE. And that is just what we did. To sleep where John Wayne, Rita Hayworth, and Kirk Douglas (just to name a very small few) gives us a night surrounded by Hollywood and Route 66!”

“The room was comfortable, but the view made the stay. The Western sits directly across the street from the glowing U-Drop Inn. We could enjoy one of Route 66's greatest Art Deco landmarks after the daytime visitors were gone. Make sure you grab some pizza up the road at Rusty's. Great service, food and beers!”

“Not every road-trip night needs to be a historic motel. Chris and I have and IHG Rewards account that comes in handy when we can't find a fun or historic hotel to stay at. This was a comfortable, dependable reset close to Springfield Route 66 and Lincoln sites - definitely made the next day easier as we continued our journey on the Mother Road.”
