Touchdown: Miami<\/a>! Hop in a taxi and in only 25 minutes from Miami International Airport you will arrive at some of the country\u2019s most beautiful beaches. If\u00a0you\u2019re searching for local vibes, a dog-friendly beach, or a natural oasis, you will find a beach that\u2019s right for you. Here are some of my favorite beaches in Miami<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

3rd Street Beach<\/b><\/p>\n

Whether you come for sunrise yoga, or to mix and mingle with Miami locals, the 3rd Street Beach is far from the hustle and bustle of the mega resorts that you\u2019ll find in mid-beach. Expansive stretches of white sand, an iconic orange lifeguard tower, and a chilled out mood makes this my go-to beach to sun the day away. If the surf is big enough, you\u2019ll also be <\/span>able to watch local surfers drop in at a nearby break. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hobie\/Windsurfer Beach<\/b><\/p>\n

Two things draw beachgoers to Hobie beach: the wind and the dog-friendly attitude. If you love windsurfing, you can rent your gear right on the beach and cruise around the shallow waters. This beach off <\/span>Rickenbacker Causeway is also the perfect place to bring your pooch. Dog owners can rest assured that their canine companions\u00a0will be safe playing in the water, which doesn’t have strong currents.<\/span><\/p>\n

73rd Street Beach<\/b><\/p>\n

Once a month, this beach in the North Beach section of Miami hosts a full moon drum circle that draws drummers and barefoot dancers from all over Miami to revel under the light of the moon. The beach at 73rd Street is also home to the North Shore Park Bandshell, which hosts Miami Food Truck and Music Fest every fourth Wednesday of the month. You will enjoy free live music and a food truck lineup of some of Miami’s best mobile eats.<\/span><\/p>\n

South Pointe Park<\/b><\/p>\n

Head to the southern-most tip of South Beach<\/a> and you\u2019ll end up in beautiful South Pointe Park. Its oceanfront location and sweeping views make it a favorite destination to relax on one of the many grassy areas, stroll along the pier, or sit on the rocks and watch the cruise ships leave port. Families will love South Pointe Park for its kid-friendly\u00a0water park, paved biking and rollerblading lanes, and shady picnic spots! <\/span><\/p>\n

Surfside<\/b><\/p>\n

Many of Miami\u2019s beaches are operated by hotels<\/a> offering beach chairs, umbrellas, and concessions. But if you head north of Miami Beach, you\u2019ll reach the neighborhood of Surfside, where there is a mile-long stretch of pristine beach with nothing but sand. It\u2019s a true escape from the Miami scene and a favorite place for those looking to get back to nature.<\/span><\/p>\n
