With travel being restricted due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and many stay at home mandates still in place, the thirst for travel is on the rise. According to Expedia search data, Americans are starting to daydream about their first trip after restrictions lift.<\/p>\n

While there’s interest in both domestic and international destinations, eight out of 10 of the top most-searched destinations are domestic\u2014indicating that exploring our own backyard will likely rebound first, as international borders open up at different times.<\/p>\n

This could be an indication of Americans seeking a vacation that offers warm weather and tons of activities, both indoor and outdoor, and shows that, for now at least, curious travelers haven\u2019t ruled out visiting a big city. For those looking further to international destinations, the biggest draw is relaxation and beach, with Mexico and the Caribbean dominating the list.<\/p>\n
