It\u2019s been a long, dreary 12 months since Pride 2020<\/a>. And while it hasn\u2019t stopped raining just yet, the clouds are parting and the sun is coming out.<\/p>\n

You know what happens when the sun comes out while it\u2019s still raining?<\/p>\n

Rainbows.<\/p>\n

This brings us to Pride 2021 and our suggestions for how you can level up as a traveler and ally.<\/p>\n

Plan a Pride getaway<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

With each passing day, the country is slowly emerging from this long period of isolation, social separation, and virtual\u00a0<\/span>everything.<\/span><\/em>\u00a0The sense of hope and the feeling that something close to normal is just around the corner feels great.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has us really excited for some good old-fashioned Pride! The marches. The camaraderie. The activism. The silliness. We are here for all of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

While June is officially Pride Month, many cities have thoughtfully scheduled several 2021 events for later in the summer and fall. And while that might mean we have to wait a little longer for the in-person stuff, it’s good news! Not only does it give everyone a little more time to get vaccinated, but it also means we have more time to coordinate and book an epic Pride getaway with our friends. Because we Pride fanatics know that Pride is better when we are together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We also know it matters who you travel with, and booking your trip with a trusted partner, such as Expedia, gives you access to helpful travel planning tools, provides the best bang-for-your-buck, and brings you the reassurance someone has your back every step of the way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are a few fun ideas for your fall Pride 2021 getaway.<\/span><\/p>\n

September<\/span><\/h3>\n

Miami Beach Pride,\u00a0<\/span>Miami, FL<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n

Running from September 10 to 19,\u00a0<\/span>Miami Beach Pride<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will be “a multi-day celebration of arts and culture including an incredible two-day Festival and Parade, featuring special events, family-friendly community activations, social mixers, and world-class entertainment.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Pride in London,\u00a0<\/span>London, UK<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n

On the weekend of September 11,\u00a0<\/span>Pride in London<\/span><\/a>\u00a0hosts the UK’s “biggest, most diverse Pride”, and the 2021 theme “will be based on Pride in London’s values of Visibility, Unity and Equality.” Check out the\u00a0<\/span>events page<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for a full line-up of queer events in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

October<\/span><\/h3>\n

Seattle Pride,\u00a0<\/span>Seattle, WA<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n

Starting on October 10, the weekend-long\u00a0<\/span>Seattle Pride<\/span><\/a>\u00a0celebration will be “a self-guided route with numerous stopping points featuring a wide variety of activities, performances and more, taking place in and around many of your favorite LGBTQIA+ and ally-owned businesses.”\u00a0<\/span>Pacific Northwest Black Pride<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will also hold a “hybrid celebration of diversity, solidarity, and digital inclusion” from October 29 to 31.<\/span><\/p>\n

(Side note: As devout Seattleites, we’ll let you in on a little secret. October is one of the most beautiful months in the Emerald City, so we are legit excited for Pride in October.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Honolulu Pride,\u00a0<\/span>Honolulu, HI<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n

The Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation and\u00a0<\/span>Honolulu Pride<\/span><\/a>\u00a0team is currently planning a series of Pride events for October, which is always an exceptional time to visit the Aloha state. November<\/span><\/h3>\n

Greater Palm Springs Pride,\u00a0<\/span>Palm Springs, CA<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n

Kicking off on November 1,\u00a0<\/span>Greater Palm Springs Pride<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will be hosting its 35th Anniversary Celebration that will include a parade, Coming Out Celebration, and a worldwide broadcast of the in-person Pride Parade on Sunday, November 7.<\/span><\/p>\n

Okay, now that you have an in-person Pride celebration to look forward to, let\u2019s take a second to look back and celebrate what the community accomplished in 2020. And there’s a lot to be proud of.<\/p>\n

Last year showed a lot of people what they could do when faced with adversity. Of course, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies are well aware that\u2014when things get tough\u2014we Get. Stuff. Done. And 2020 was remarkable for what we were all able to accomplish in the face of immense and intense pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n
