There's no better way to immerse yourself in the wonders of the Top End than with a camping trip in the wilderness. Spend 3 days exploring the rugged landscapes of Kakadu and Litchfield national parks, see the wildlife in the Mary River Wetlands, and admire spectacular nights under the stars.

Day 1 Your guide takes you from your Darwin accommodation early in the morning as your adventure begins. A cruise through the Mary River Wetlands lets you see the habitat of over 250 bird species and the highest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the Southern Hemisphere.

After a picnic lunch on the South Alligator River and a look at the Aboriginal arts and crafts in the Bowali Visitor Centre, pay a late-afternoon visit to Ubirr to see its famous rock paintings that date back thousands of years. Get a sweeping view over the floodplain from the Nadab Lookout before you head to a private campsite at Cooinda for dinner.

Day 2 Set out for the southern end of Kakadu to spend a morning at Gunlom Falls. Relax in a natural infinity pool against the backdrop of the Arnhem Land escarpment, take a dip in the sandy middle pool, and swim under a waterfall in the rear pool. After lunch, a journey via Batchelor brings you to a private campsite near Litchfield National Park.

Day 3 Explore the waterfalls, spring-fed streams, and rugged sandstone escarpments of Litchfield National Park. Marvel at the intriguing termite mounds and swim, hike, and explore the sights at Florence and Wangi Falls. After a look at the rock holes and cascading waterfalls of Buley Rockhole, head back to Darwin in the early evening as your tour comes to an end.
