Description

The countryside of Provence features beautiful landscapes, picturesque villages, and outstanding historical sites for you to explore. Admire the imposing Roman-era Pont du Gard, the antiques at Saint Rémy de Provence, and the breathtaking hilltop villages of Les Baux de Provence and Gordes.

Your tour starts with a trip to the Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site constructed nearly 2,000 years ago. Admire this amazingly well-preserved Roman aqueduct, built to supply water to the surrounding villages.

Next, see the beautiful commune of Saint-Rémy de Provence in the heart of the Alpilles mountain range. The birthplace of Nostradamus and subject of more than 100 paintings by Van Gogh, the village is an enchanting paradise. Relax amid the ambience of this idyllic Provençal village and wander cobblestone streets lined with elegant historical buildings.

Reach Les Baux-de-Provence, a historic town perched on a rocky plateau, to feel a world apart from modernity. Stroll through ancient alleyways, peaceful squares, and shaded terraces full of fragrant, colorful flowers.

Your day continues with a stop in the enchanting village of Roussillon. Explore its maze of narrow lanes bordered with ochre buildings, and then move on to the perched town of Gordes, famous for its dramatic hilltop setting and lovely architecture.

A photo stop will be organized at Senanque Abbey from mid-June to mid July to take picture of the lavender fields. Outside this period, you will visit the Lavender Museum in Coustellet.

A bit expensive but you get to see a lot in one full day. My tour lasted 11 hours and Remi, the tour guide, was super professional and nice. I would ask for Remi for your tour.
