Enjoy a narrated cruise over Lake Union, Hiram M. Chittenden (Ballard) Locks, Puget Sound, and Elliott Bay. Sit back and let your captain do the driving as you get a waterfront view of some quintessential Seattle destinations.

Lake Union, Seattle's backyard, is home to the famous floating home community seen in the classic Sleepless in Seattle. The commercial docks house many of the vessels from the hit TV show Deadliest Catch and act as an airport, with seaplanes taking off and landing on a regular basis.

On your way from the freshwater of Lake Union to the saltwater of the Puget Sound, you pass through the Ballard Locks. These locks keep Lake Washington and Lake Union about 20 feet (6.1 m) above sea level, hold the saltwater out of the lakes, and provide the public with the opportunity to view the massive salmon runs that pass over the fish ladders.

In the Puget Sound, you pass by several marinas where the full force of Seattle's nautical culture is on display, with thousands of pleasure boats ready to head out into the sound. Astonishing vistas are visible from your boat: Seattle's unique skyline, Mount Rainer hovering in the distance, and ferry boats plying the waters to take their passengers to and from the city.

Part of your locks trip includes a motorcoach transfer; you start and end your trip at the same location, Pier 56.
