Description

This unmissable tour is now in its 5th year and goes from strength to strenth with amazing reviews and its a perfect tour for first time visitors as well as Beatles fans as you will learn how and why this vibrant city has changed in a fun and informative tour.

Follow in the footsteps of the Fab 4 themselves on this Beatles sightseeing tour. Visit the Cavern Club where the group played 292 times. Journey through the leafy suburbs of South Liverpool using the same bus route John. Paul & George took to visit Penny Lane Development Centre and to see the first of John's childhood homes. Next it's photos outside Strawberry Field Gates and photos outside the childhood home of John Lennon called Mendips where he lived from the age of 5 until 1961 with his Aunt Mimi and Uncle George.

Your shared guided tour starts at the new Beatles statues near Liverpool's Liver Buildings & in front of the Mersey Ferry Terminal and its a great idea as a shore excursion as its less than 5 minutes walk from the Cruise Terminal .

Next, your local tour guide will take you to visit the Museum of Liverpool for the world renowned “Double Fantasy” John Lennon & Yoko Ono exhibition.

You will conntinue your tour with an easy level walk through the World Heritage Site passing the Town Hall where the group had their homecoming banquet in 1964 and the Iron Door Club. You will see the Eleanor Rigby statue and it is here that the guide will explain where Paul McCartney and John Lennon met for the first time in July 1957 and how the Beatles legacy has enabled this city to change especially since Liverpool was European Capital of Culture in 2008.

Next its a visit to the famous Cavern Club and admire the place where the Beatles played an impressive 292 times. After a break for refreshments on your own, your guide takes you through the modern leisure complex of Liverpool ONE on your way to the schools and colleges the Beatles attended. Take the same public bus route the members rode in the 1960s to Penny Lane, see Lennon's first childhood home & the gates of Strawberry Field then on to his other childhood home, called Mendips. Your magical day wraps up at the Royal Albert Docks, just a short walk from the cruise terminal.

The tour finishes around 3.30pm and that leaves most people particularly Beatles fans to take an optional visit to the Beatles Story Museum or buy food or souvenirs from the many shops and restaurants in this historical location.
